Buell Forum / Buell XB Forum / Do-It-Yourself Buell Mods / I never thought it would happen to me. (not a crash story)

I never thought the modification bug would hit me. From the 1st day I bought my bike, to 6 weeks later when I finally saw her in person for the first time I thought she was beautiful. Only 700 miles on her yet I felt she was a perfect virgin. We spent a wonderful summer together. I rode her for 3000 miles on every twisty and mountain road in Colorado I could find and not once did she let me down, or get tired before I did. A perfect woman I thought.

Then things started to change.

We both moved to Michigan to follow one of my dreams. In the winter months I thought nothing would change. For a couple weeks I would go downstairs, make sure she was warm enough, and whisper in hear ear that we could make this long distance relationship with summer work. Little did I know, nothing lasts forever.

It was two weeks ago when she started nagging me that I had only sat on her a couple times, and not taken her out even once. I wheeled her over to the basement door and showed her that a exotic trip, just the two of us, was out of the question. She claimed I was not proud of her anymore, that maybe she was not pretty enough. It was then that I took advantage of the moment. With alcohol on my breath I said "Maybe if you cleaned yourself up a bit".

That was the beginning. I had no idea it would turn into this. Having been with many big bottom hoe's I first decided to chop her tail off. With a whimper I had never before, (small dick) she took it. I cut, shaved and sanded for 50 times what I normally last. 45 minutes later, it was gone. Time to make her look pretty.

I grabbed the cheapest makeup I could find called rustoleium or something spelled close to that. Sprayed her down like never before and WHALA! Black chopped tail, and black frame-rails.

Nothing special, others have done it. But I seriously never thought I would change the bike. You guys convinced me it is the buell way and that I needed to be even more different even though I have never seen another buell in this town.

What a great movie plot...

I wont lie, I planned on it going further, but I actually had people waiting for me at the bar, which is why it came to an abrupt end.

Xtreme, wallet is on the way down. But I will spend any amount of money to keep a woman happy who returns the favor like Melany does.

Yeah her name is Melany, wanna fight about it?

Buddha, I would ride the hell out of my "thing" no matter what "it" was as long as the "object" rides like a buell does. Not a fag at all.

Now lets all get together and go

Brab BRRRR Babbbb bbbbb BRA BRA BRA KerPOP Bra Bra Bra

Forgot to add, not that there is anything wrong with that...

Such a beautifull story. I need to spend more time with Sexy Beast. She is all wraped up out in the garage. All by her self. I must go hug my bike. I will be back.

I guess I am cold hearted and my bike tends to be riden hard and put away wet. I do clean it to maintain the bike but no lovey dovey for me, just fun and more fun. If me bike wouldnt offer that I would drop it like it was hot.

No emotions into my rides just fun to be had.

It seems that once you get a Buell ,it's only a matter of time before you individualize your already unique ride.
Yep , my girl wants a new exhaust!

That was quite the story...haha, Hilarious. My girlfriend always laughs at me when I talk to my bike, I don't see what's so funny.

Bro, loved this story. i feel the same way. I just got my 04 buell but i've had bikes before. I still have yet to do any mods, but i can't wait to get started. that is why i switched back to buell after having a crotch rocket. I love having something different and mine. so many crotch rockets are right out of a cookie cutter. anyways, I'm still deciding if its a girl or a boy. My last buell was a 1200 M2 and that was definitely a boy. but we'll see. I'm in Lansing, MI so i'll see ya out there in a month or so.

RT Sorry I missed your post. I am in Traverse City now.

Macbuell, I think this is the cutest post. Your Melany Is a beautiful motorcycle. I live in Traverse City and have a 07 Ulysses. I can't leave the poor girl alone. It shakes the ground some ( Hooker bends and a 12" Cherrybomb), the local dogs go a little nuts when I fire it up.I lifted up the tail and I just cant tell for sure? Maybe Buellah I don't know. A girl would be better. A boy bike, like Bam Bam might end up hurting me!  By the way, what is that other dream that you are pursuing up here? I have all of ECSspy software if you are interested.

makes me want to get my sandpaper and a rattle can out now.. Looks great.

Nice Dogleg, Randy Hawkins actually just had my ECM and pipe, so I am hoping Melany is all set, but if not I will be calling your name out here on the forum. I assume you guys looked at my pictures in my profile, she is already changed but I don't have pictures yet. For those who did not see most recent pics, here one is.

I like how you cut the pulley cover....  Plan on doing that once i get the time to clean my rust.
Posted:  20 Feb 2010 18:42 [?]
Credit must be given to Johny Kidd. Look for a thread called Pulley Cover Mod with posts by him in it. He had his cut this way and I copied

I will have to take a new picture, but what I did was paint the whole inside black, and then polish the ring inside that in my picture is red. Now it has a polished ring inside that is silver just like the rear sprocket and the rest will be glossy black.

macbuell:  did you polish and paint it on the bike?  Im doing the same thing right now and trying to figure out the easiest way to do it.  yours looks great.  nice work.

Dang It! another mod to add to the list....
Posted:  08 Apr 2010 16:52 [?]
sweet pulley cover mod. i didn't notice that before. OK so i wanna say this is now 4 or 5th on the to do list. I think I'll move the "wrapping my headers" project to the winter. so maybe i can get this in at #5 after, the headlight mod, breather mod, led mod, and...there was one other mod.
Posted:  08 Apr 2010 16:55 [?]
OH macbuell, did you paint your headers. I take it you've been riding a lot, and your don't look like mine. maybe mine weren't taken care of before but they're all discolored from the heat or something. anyways if you did. how did you get the rear header off?

Yeah I did what people on here have suggested and bought a brillow-pad. Just scrubbed it real hard with WD-40 for a while, never took them off. Shined them right up. After riding a bunch now, they have turned that nice golden color. When the gold starts to turn into something different, I will scrub again

sweet thanks macbuell. maybe i'll move that up to #3 since it doesn't require much money.

oh hey macbuell, I've started the primary cover mod. so far its not too hard. cut the whole which is what took the longest. scrubbed off the rust off the primary sprocket (if thats what it is) and i'll be painting it today. I think i'm gonna paint that metal ring (the square one) red and the rest aluminum grey but keep that center black. which is gonna be three separate colors since i already primed them all grey. LOL
I'll post up a pic when done
