What I want to know is what the front of your bike looks like. I cant see if it is a Lightning or a Firebolt or a chopped up Firbolt fairing, or just the windscreen

I dont have any pics from the front right now.  I'll take some tomorrow and post them.

Its a Firebolt fairing attached to the stock lightning.

Everything that was used i had around the house. A dremel to cut down the blinker housings as far as i could, also to cut holes in the taillight housing just big enough to fit the blinker bulbs, then cut down the yellow covers to try to separate the three lights.  Painted the taillight housing and the yellow blinker covers with metallic silver spray paint.  Then stuck everything in place with a hot glue gun.

Just rode around 300 miles over the weekend  (OBX bike week) and everything is still in the right place.

Well, glue came loose but that doesn't come as a surprise.

still not gona give in and pay over $100 for an integrated tail light

Might try Gorilla glue
Need something to separate the three lights and something to bind it all
together

Anybody have any ideas?

Everything is still in place and working correctly which is suprising because i pried the yellow blinker covers off the brake light.

Use a 2-part epoxy rated for higher temps.
Posted:  08 May 2010 07:33 [?]
+1 on epoxy. Just be careful to not let it drip anywhere but where you want it!

Terminal bulb too hot, so I replaced the bulb and light ice cold and shines beautifully.  when a light bulb swap that will not play and the glue will not flow . Martin

bulb

The reference is to shop with us in Bohemia, but also certainly find you. I have a red lamp lights and super.

Thanks for the replies!  A friend of mine mentioned the epoxy.  Going to give that a shot first.

Very nice. The epoxy is the way to go. Just go the local hard ware store and look in the glue and caulk section for one that bonds plastics. It will do exactly what youre wanting +1

Ended up using an epoxy called Fahrenheit rated up to 500 degrees.

does the orange show through the red when indicating?
Posted:  06 Aug 2010 07:25 [?]
I will be starting this Monday thanks for the write up.
Posted:  06 Aug 2010 07:55 [?]
no it just blinks red. I know Riderdie put the orange covers inside his taillight, but I didn't put in anything to change the color. Maybe someday I'll try jamming the orange pieces in there to see if it does anything.

or get a clear lense
Posted:  06 Aug 2010 11:08 [?]
If I got a clear lense I'd have to get something to turn the clear tail light bulb red and to cover the whole turn signal with orange. Even with Riderdie's orange covers they don't go all the way over. I think it would just complicate things. I saw someone riding last night with and LED tail light with integrated signals that blinked in orange and his tail light was so bright and the mix of colors just turned into one big blur. It actually makes me feel better about my fear that my light isn't bright enough. If nothing else that'll just make it easier to tell the difference between the two. You could tell he wanted to turn because of the orange blinking, but you still had no idea which way he was going.

Ya that was the Original idea, but it just shows red.
They don't cover the blinkers  completely, I painted them silver to be more reflective. They work more for separating the lights.
Two weeks ago I did it again and completely covered them in that epoxy.
It lights up great at night.

i bouught some LED license plate bolts that are AMBER in color... and chopped the tail off my 1125r and put the license plate bracket of my 12r on the bike... then bent the original blinker mounts out to face the bolts back... clean look i think... cheaper than a integrated for sure... i'll try n post up a picture or two
