Hey Bitter Rod!
Is this bracket illegal because it bends the license plate or because it is sideways? Cuz I know all my dads choppers have his license plates sideways and he has never gotten problems for it. |

| I saw some of the new V-rods up at a harley shop in NH and they have side license plate mounts....not sure if this is for all new v-rods or just NH. I really love that plate mount and want one bad but I have no idea if it is legal in MA! I figure if harley has them on their stock bikes in NH then its legal there but I don't know about MA....anybody know? or where to check? | |

If used right, this site is really helpful. Just use the "bar links" at the top of the page to navigate, the rest is advertisements. DMV.org
It's how I found out it's illegal to Lane-split in KY.

| ok thanks Stevenc150. I looked at MA's and it seems to only say that the license plate has to be visible. I live in OR so the laws are probably the same. The only plate problems people have seem to have is when they hide the plate way back under the fender. | |

| It'd be bad to get a ticket over something like you're plate not being mounted correctly. Here's Oregon just in case: DMV - OR | |

| I was told by a reliable sourse that MI is horizontal and 12 min from the ground. So... I'm not legal for thr verticle mount, but am 12+ from ground. | |

Well if choppers can have them verticle then I'll do it as well! Im not a carzy rider so I'm gonna take my chances that a cop wont pull me over just because of that.
Hey EVLXB: Any progress on the production yet? |

| slow progress guys. I have the plates bend/cut/shaped. I have the materials for the rest of the parts. My wife had to go out of town on business, leaving me to watch the kids solo, and I am leaving for Korea on Monday. So, it will be another few weeks before they are done. | |

Bitter rod are you a bay city officer or a state officer? Sorry, just saw this post. I am a Bay City officer. As for the plate bracket...in MI it is illegal because it is vertical. Having said that, I had to look it up. Which tells you that I have never stopped, or written anyone for it in my career. What could happen, if you were to be stopped, is a simple "fix-it" ticket. Meaning there would be no fine if you corrected the issue. Then once you get the ticket dismissed, you could put it back and try again. |

| Awsome mount. Is it made out of steel or aluminum. I have some stuff here that I could try to do one out of aluminum. I made one similar this for my Wide Glide, but it was Aluinum and I polishied it. Of course on these bikes, the polished would look out of place unless there was some more on the bike else where. | |
