Buell Forum / Buell XB Forum / Do-It-Yourself Buell Mods / What Kind Of Exhaust Is This????????????

Posted:  07 Jan 2010 19:50   Last Edited By: Stevenc150[?]
Ok, this is my moded exhaust. It was on my bike when I bought it. The tip is thick stainless steel. Some of these pics are slightly blured but you can make it out pretty good. I just painted it yesterday. If you think you might know what kind it is, then please add a pic if you can to compair. My bike is an 09 if that helps. Thanks

I'd guess a Voodoo variation. Looks bad ass though! How's it sound?

Her is what it sounds like.

There is about 5 inches of snow on the ground. Once its gone I will post a drive by for better sound.

Not bad! Gotta get a good fly-by vid to really hear it. Judging by the "hollow" sound, I'd venture a guess at a complete gutting.

I'm almost 100% that it is a voodoo. That was one of his last pipes

Here is a bad diagram. I could see in the exit pipe but not in the entrance pipe. as soon as I can find a little mirror on a stick I will be able to see in the in pipe. To complete the diagram. I just want to know what kind it is so I can be able to better know my bike. i did see a voodoo blk mjk on youtube at a distance and it did sound very close and look very possable. I asked the guy to come here and post better pics. So we will see. thanks for everyones help.

I love MS Paint LOL. Gettin me an idea... So the black dots are the plugged factory holes thus creating the backpressure needed instead of being completely hollowed out.

That's why he says his pipes dont need repacking.... because there isn't any.
Posted:  07 Jan 2010 22:27 [?]
well maybe that isn't a voodoo. I dont see his zipper along the top.
Posted:  07 Jan 2010 22:37 [?]
What about the weld down the middle of the belly? Could very well be one of his. Tattoo, where are ya?

There is a zipper on the bottom! I wonderd what that was. I painted 4 coats of paint so you cant see it from some angles. Here is a better pic.

So does this mean it a Voodoo?

Is that like a machine stich weld?

"Paging Dr.Tattoo, there's a zipperstitch that needs to be looked at."

Jim puts the "zipper" on the top side. See the can on the left

Looking at the tips on that 12, looks a lot like the one in question.

My tip looks exactly like that!! I am 100% sure that is the same sainless. With out a doubt. The flat end the pipes exit looks exactly the same.

Here is a close up of the stich on the belly.

Yeah that's a factory stitch. Is there a "race only" stamp on it? sometimes jim puts it on and sometimes he doesn't.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 00:57 [?]
No stamp. So what now.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 01:01 [?]
Back to the drawing board. The only thing that could have been done then was to cut the end off, gut the inner sleeve, and then put it back together. Odd.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 01:09 [?]
Pretty sure it's a voodoo. I'll send jim a PM and ask him.

Thanks

Hope your bike was warm before you started ripping on it

It was. I had just got back from a long ride. My girl came out with the cam so i fired it back up and went around the block. I was also about 70% out side.

Bump!  I posted the same pics at diff fourm and its leaning toward a VooDoo. After seeing that pic of a VooDoo I believe it is a VooDoo. I would still love for the guy who made the VooDoo's to look at it.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 20:15 [?]
I asked Jim, he says it looks like his but he's not 100% sure.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 20:32 [?]
Ok, thanks. Thats good enough for me. Im going to call it a voodoo. if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, then it must be a duck.
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 20:37 [?]
Well then hold it up and say "Baaaaa" through the inlet pipe, and if it quacks out the other side then you know... it's a duck
Posted:  08 Jan 2010 21:34 [?]
it worked!
