Brought my bike to my buddies shop for service,he pointed out that there is some surface corrosion starting to build up on the valve covers and motor mounts.It's like a white powder build up,anyone encounter this?Is it normal,and if not,can I just glass bead the covers and mounts and then spray them?

Normal.  You can media blast them, then coat them if you want.  Dont blast or coat the gasket surfaces
