Me too, but hell it is only once a year and the only game I truely watch.

Also MI is cold, dark, and the roads are covered in rust producing salts

I'm with ya! Just got home from a lil ride. managed to miss the first half of the game. Time for pizza!
Posted:  08 Feb 2010 03:28 [?]
I agree, I would take a ride on my buell over football any day.
Posted:  08 Feb 2010 03:33 [?]
I too was out riding, have not watched a stupidbowl in 20 years and have no plans to waste precious hours of my life watching a bunch of juicebox's and a ball thats in play for mere seconds over the course of a game, almost a stupid as baseball....another game based on statistics, consuming beer and sitting on your ass...

life is too short to waste having your brains sucked out by the evil media machine that is televison!

now if your talking combat sports, I am in!

Me too.  I couldn't care less who played or who won.   I'm not a big sports fan....

Actually the "Stuperbowl" and Playoffs is the only time of year they play the whole game.    That's why I prefer college ball.  Also a huge MMA fan!

I take it no one played HS football.

Wow,I thought I was the only dude who could care less...
Free thinkers unite..and ride!

I got that beat- demoed a closet that had mold in it from a leak in the roof. Fun times!
Posted:  08 Feb 2010 20:27 [?]
You guys missed a great game.
Posted:  08 Feb 2010 20:48 [?]
Marko, thats great that New Orleans won, maybe they can get around to actually cleaning up the parts of NO that they have left trashed for the last five years....(check out the movie 'Trouble the Water' )

no offence but I also feel that I missed nothing, (if wasting hours of your life watching a game is your cup of tea then all the power to those so inclined....)

I spent my day riding, enjoying beautiful weather, then doing some DH mountain biking with my wife....
not a second of my day was wasted by having my soul sucked out by the idiot machine we call TV..

life is the most precious gift you'll ever receive, cherish it, nurture and live it!

I watched............. the commercials.

I spent the day eating fried stuff. Fried twinkies, fried oreos, fried bacon wrapped jalapenos poppers, fried mini hotdogs and fried mac and cheese balls. Screw superbowl parties, I'm going to fryer parties more often. I still smell like fryer oil though.

Posted:  08 Feb 2010 21:38 [?]

Posted:  08 Feb 2010 21:49 [?]
Man Dave I do not envy your heart it prolly feels like its pumping clumpy sewage through undersized pipe... but I can't talk I only used to eat healthy I had pizza hut and watched UFO Hunters for the length of the game

It's like everything else, if you've never done it you don't understand why people would waste their time.

- Poeple who don't understand why we Ride, have never Rode, and think we waste our time.
- People who don't like football, never played, and think we waste our time.

Go figure.  Just because you're day had a different purpose, doesn't mean mine was wasted.

(Heck, the Polomalou commercial was worth it alone...trust me & watch it.)

I played football in highschool..(when I showed up for school that is..) yawns

as for people not understanding why we ride, I suggest they turn off the TV and read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance...

Athletes getting paid stupid amounts of money for entertaining us with a specific skill set is another big turn off for team sports(don't get me started on
the ridiculous money in professional boxing )

Corporations run the world, from the military industrial complex down to amateur sports, it's aboot pushing brands and products to the over eager instant gratification geared consumer, every year the cost of living goes up but do our wages follow suit and keep pace?
HELLS NO!
Our standard of living in North America has been sliding for the past few decades,(as it has world wide) the rich get richer and the poor, well you know the rest, the haves and have nots...sorry for the rant but if people can't handle it, then go back to sleep and get excited for the next season of American Idol....

peace, pass it on

I, for the most part agree Buddha. I work in advertising and it sickens me how much these space cadets get paid. Yes I understand they have a skill, but they are basically hired muscle. Then the engineers and crew member that put these things together get pennies in comparison.

Also, I just don't find these games entertaining. Sometimes when I'm working in a mobile production truck at a football game, we may have a favorite team and we may get a little excited when a good play happens. But that is just the nerd in us, what we're really getting excited about is being able to play with our fancy slow motion replay systems.

What I don't understand is how people dedicated all of their money and spare time to watching guys grab each other. I see trucks with raiders themes, and to me I just see that as how stupid they really are. Why would a person advertise that??

Buddah...we got almost 2 feet of snow Saturday...and another foot coming tomorrow.  Riding is out of the question for me at this point.  So, I drank beer, ate good food, hung out with friends, and watched a pretty good football game.

I personally don't care much for sports.  I played baseball for 9 years, hockey for a few and basketball for 1 game. (worst sport ever).

I just can't bring myself to spend the kind of money it takes to "be a fan".  I'd rather be in the garage wrenching or striking out with the ladies.
Posted:  09 Feb 2010 02:14 [?]
Marko, I am glad you were able to enjoy the day, my rant is based on my personal beliefs/opinions..

I meant no disrespect to you or any other sports fan and Midnight brought up a great point aboot being able to afford to be a fan....

I originally am from the province of Onterrible..LOL and suffered thru some long miserable winters that began at the end of Oct and ended in April BUT if the roads were clear I would ride (then give my ride a nice long bath to combat road salt) but I am also the type that enjoys being outside year round.

I just do something that goes with whatever weather we are having, snow means a little bumper jumping with your buddies in a malls parking lot, going tubing down some hills/mountains, 4X4'in or riding quads/dirtbikes or snow machines.
For me there are always other things I would rather do then watch TV...(I spent enough time in the 70's with the TV as my babysitter)

Ummmm, that won't help either - you've got to ride to experience it.
In the end, opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one.

Edit: I did forget the most important deal about the whole day - Good Times involving Family, Friends, and Food.

No offense taken, my man.  I've got a tv that I spent nearly 3,000 dollars on and it has a nice picture.  I gotta watch it from time to time.
