If Buells did not exist, what type of motorcycle would you ride? Not to hate on the US, but I'd probably ride a Suzuki GSXR 750.

I'm surprised that others chose the GSXRs. What do you like about the Suzuki bikes over Honda, Kawasaki, Ducati, or Aprilia?

The GSXR is the best all around sport bike on the market.(Except Buell of course! lol) Suzuki doesn't have much to offer in the other areas, so my guess is that they put most of the funds into the sportbike program. For the longest time, the RM and the KX were the exact same bike, just different plastics, so we know the money wasn't going there, and Honda has about a trillion other products that they put more focus on. Kawasaki just follows the croud, the ZX14 is a bad ride, but it came too late in my opinion, and Yamaha lost its luster back when the YZ was Pink and white! The R1 is a good bike, but with the same skill level rider on both, can't come close to the GSXR. Just my take on it.

Lessee...the other bikes on my shortlist when I bought my Firebolt were: Triumph Speed 4, Honda Superchicken, SV1000S. Right now, it'd probably be the Triumph 675, although a Ducati would be a strong contender (I'd love a 748, or better yet a 916...).
However, I'm glad Buell is around, or I might have ended up riding the SV1000S...

Probably a new Kawasaki Z1000. They look pretty sweet. Or maybe a Suzuki GSF500... simple, cheap, and not bad looking. I'm not an aggressive rider, so large displacement is kinda' wasted on me (says he with the 1200 Ss).

I would get one that is fixable. My Buell is dead again 4th time. I also get no support from the shop or buell I call them give my info. They say they will call me back. well no calls ever. maybe I need to not make payments then they call. nope that ruins credit that I'll need to buy a new not a buell bike once I get this one running again. It's trade time. I'm going back Suzuki or Kawasaki

Sorry about the bad luck. I do think it's the luck of the draw. Some dealers are great, some suck really bad. It happens with most motorycle brands. I suggest that you find a new dealer. I think that one of the problems is that most harley guys like cruisers, and Buells are sport bikes. HD forced Buell on the HD dealers, and most guys at the shops don't care about Buells much. My local dealer has a couple Buell freaks, so they seem to care about my Bike.

I'd still go for the Buell, but I might give Ducati a shot.

I'm surprised nobody has said a V-Max. They aren't sport bikes really...so its a lot like apples and oranges...but those bikes just look evil. I saw a guy on one that was fitted with sport tires and full kerker exhaust. It looked like something that was forged in hell, and sounded like the end of the world. It's been one of my favorite bikes since I was a little kid.

I think I'd buy and Spondon frame and build my OWN Buell. Yep, git me a sporty 1200, a Baker 6 speed tranny, some flat-tracker bars, scrambler exhaust...
Mmmmmm.....tasty
