For whatever reason I get extremely good gas mileage on this Buell. Ive read through some other posts to compare.
My best is 67 mpg. I wasnt riding easy really..lots of twisties My worst is 48mpg...was really windy that day. Ive compared trip odometers with other people and my speedometer/odometer is not off. I have a 2004 XB12S. Only performance mods are D&D exhaust..Race ECU and Race Filter. I live in Northern IL...not much elevation. Its nothing abnormal for me to go 200 miles on a tank of gas. Is anyone else seeing this kind of fuel mileage? |

Thats pretty crazy. You're getting 70 miles a tank more than the rest of us.
Thats like having a supermodel as a wife and only kissing her on the cheek. |

I know it sounds ridiculous but I have checked every tank in the last 1000 or so miles...
The last tank of gas I went through I had 158 miles when the F light went on...that was the worst Ive had. As far as riding slow..to be honest..other than twisties the Buell isnt what Id call "fast". To reply to that I ride the piss out of the Buell because Im used to a "faster" bike Someone in the area of northwestern Illinois needs to go on a ride with me

I have a 2003 xb9r w/race kit and regularly get 145-165 miles on a tank of gas, and by no means do I take it easy.
I would think in large part to the race ECM since imitions laws require a bike to run rich since it reduces N2O outputs. In having the race ECM you are utilizing all the gas possible taking power into mind over imitions. My girlfriend has a 2003 xb9s and gets the same milage I get. Do you guys who get lower mpg have 9's or 12's? |

Light comes on at 100-108 miles so that's about 33mpg? Seems right considering I beat the crap out of it and 70% of my riding is in town or in 65 zones.
On a long ride "cruising" I have hit just about 60mpg, I was holding it around 70mph the whole time, mostly level ground. My bike is completely stock besides a Jardine can. 08 xb12 |
