Yah saw this on the web recently.. looks sick... I guess you're going to show it? best of luck with that... the gas mask is, well some might say, redonkulous

Nice! I personally love the gas mask. Can we see a front on picture? I would go all black in a minute if I thought it was safe. I've always ridden the brightest motorcycles possible to give me a slight chance at survival.

Where did you get that gas mask? I have to have it. The riding position looks really aggressive. Did you just adjust the rear spring? Does the aggressive riding position make it easier to ride at high speeds? Wind?

gas mask is a real British Avon unit that i modified to fit the XB headlight. picked it up from a military surplus vendor. the tail has been lifted with cast spacers, the bars lowered with MX bars, see pic. front and rear suspension are stock. riding position is more aggressive, great for street duty, not as good as clip-ons for twisty duty. riding in the wind above 80mph still sucks just as much as stock

This is probably one of the most tasteful custom Buells I have seen yet. Great work, I love it. Where did you get your spacers for the tail? I have a SCG and I'd love to raise it up a bit without fooling with the suspension.

Where did you get the tail lift? Is it the spacers? If so where did you get them?

tail spacers are from pM-Performance in Switzerland ($300US) or you can get spacers from Frank-Parts in Germany but I forget the price.

Oh, what seat is that? Is it the stocker? How did you re-fit it with the tail spacers? Doesn't that change the angle?

yeah, thats the stock S seat. you gotta jam it on a bit, pushes into the 'tank'. i'm going to pick up a cheap pan, trim it then get a custom seat made. probably do that over the winter along with MORE BLACK.

Very Cool typeone. Super clean bike. I have to tell you...I think the gas mask in the front is very creative. You've inspired me to trick out the lights for my bike a little. I was gonna get a mask just like you did (giving you all the credit when asked of course) but have decided to go a different route. We have done a lot of similar mods, but my bike isn't blacked out quite as much. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

thanks, NOMORE4s. sounds cool, post up pics
flyboy, see list above for all mods and makers, i ordered pretty much everything direct. for the Oberon bar-end mirrors, i ordered direct from Oberon in the UK. and yup, i can see out of them. i'm used to looking down after having the same setup for the past few years. used to have a CatEye mtb mirror on left in same position.
roberuno, thanks!

typeone, the fender eliminator you used, from hillbilly motors, do you have the link to it? I found the website but I cant read German (or whatever it is) trying to find it by pictures and I found one that looks similar, but the plate is sticking down and not bent back flat against the bottom like yours

thanks, guys!
dgp, regarding the tail, i dont think HBM ever sold that unit in their catalog. Jens happened to have a prototype on the bench in Carbon/Kevlar weave which is the one I have. its a dupe of an HSA tail. i'm not sure if they're still being produced by either company, this is going back a few years now. someone did find a similar unit recently but i dont have a link... i know it was another German company though. Most of my mods were bought direct from shops in the EU. required lots of surfing and translating German!
regarding the plate mount/location, i did that myself, not part of the kit. most tail kits allow for a bracket that sticks down as you mention. i positioned and drilled for the plate in the stock undertail.
few newer pics...
