Is a dual/right hand scoop a good add on?
Is this something that will make the motor run cooler , but the rider get a lot of heat?
Just purchased my first Buell, is an XB9SX.
Anything i should be aware of?

a right side scoop from the ulysses comfort kit is IMO the single best add-on you can do for comfort, rear cylinder cooling and engine longevity. i have posted the 3 part #'s that comprise the inner and outer scoops and the 3 fastening screws many times. use site search function for same. still available thru most all dealers and worth the $62 retail for everything.

my pleasure. below is what you'll need. google the part numbers and you'll see that you can either order online from several H-D dealers.....most offer discount...or go to your local dealer and order up. there are 3 small button-head screws that hold the outer scoop to the inner scoop and retail for $1.40 each. they are 10/32X5/8th stainless button-heads. you can get them for a few pennies each at any quality hardware/fastener place. BE CAREFUL threading them into the captive nut which is part of the inner scoop. they cross-thread quite easily.
when you remove the factory right side scoop you simply use that hardware to fasten the new replacement inner scoop. here's your part numbers:
right side outer scoop: M0851.7AA
right side inner scoop: M0852.7AA

Item 1 underseat shroud only fits in Uly. The side scoop and header cover will work on all xb's.
For what it's worth, the side scoop was one of the best mods I've done to my firebolt. We used to call it the FurnaceBolt, now it's reasonably comfortable to ride in 100* temps. It's still a very hot bike, but the right side scoop really tamed the insane amount of heat coming off of it. Now I just need to track down a header cover and I'll be happy.
^^^^^ fatty: the part # for header shroud cover is S0175.5ak. nothing to "track down" as it is still active part # meaning most any dealer can order it for you. list is approx. $45 and cost is approx. $34. you can use standard worm drive clamps to attach to header.
