Does anyone know where I can get a service manual for less then $60?
I would like to do some of my own work on my 04 buell firebolt, so I don't have to pay an arm+leg to take it to the harley shop. Where even they don't really seem to know what they are doing.

I think the only place to get a service manual is from the dealer, or you can watch ebay. Try to look at it this way: the first time you don't take your bike to the dealer the manual more than paid for itself

try this if you don't mind a e-pub for $9.00. it is for an XB9s/r but I would think if you had a 12 you could find a book for it on that site.
