You can cold weld it, I've had success with fixing one that way. It's just a lower heat alminum soldier stick you can find at tractor supply. Practice a bit first
Hello, the other day I was reassembling my 1125cr after rotating the engine and the K bracket mounting hole was 1/16" off from lining up so I smaked it pretty lightly with a dead blow a couple times and the bracket snapped.. Does anyone have a left K bracket that they'll sell me?
Thanks,
JP

Thanks bwylie_99. I've never heard of cold welding before. do you use a torch and rod kinda like brazing?
Exactly. I'm no expert at it and I managed to soldier mine back together. You can do it!
Where are you located? if you cant find one or this fix doesnt work for you I can tig weld it back together for you.
If you can't fix it I have one. Picked up a set to replace my right side as it was repaired poorly. Honeslty depending on where the break is you could do what I did. Since you don't see it, I drilled a hole through it and tapped it out. Threaded a bolt in it, with JB weld in the hole, ground it down and added a few pieces of back strap(also JB welded) to give it a bit more support. These are supposed to snap off instead of doing damage to your frame.
Shawn, I just sent you a PM.
I have access to a tig welder but welding aluminum is hard enough but sand casting I wouldn't even know how to begin. what temp would you preheat the aluminum before welding? and what about controlling the temp while it cools down.
Thanks for the help guys
As for cooling down get a bucket of playsand and just bury the work piece. Get you some 3/32 2% thorinated tungsten I'd have to look at the material to suggest a filler material.
4043 alloy is a good all round filler rod or 4047
