Main thing is heat reduction for the rider. I believe there is a bit of performence up also. and If u get a good wrap it looks great depending on ur color scheme. High Performance Coating(http://hpcoatings.com/)will coat it it ceramic for a much bigger penny but it looks mighty fine if u have the cash to blow. Good luck

I wrapped mine and the heat its much better on my right leg but the wrap is starting to fade and is starting to look crappie I guess I will replace it soon. I did it because it looks cool.

I bought my bike with a wrapped header. It's that light beigeish color wrap. Can I repaint it black and where do I get the header wrap paint?

just paint it with heat resistant paint and they'll look as new.

It reduces A LOT of heat and some exhaust noise (notice I said noise and not volume)

I can't say much for a seat of the pants power difference but the milage will go up.

A true indicator of what the wrap can do is on something carburated. YOu can easily drop one, if not two jet sizes when used on a carburated engine. It also makes the engine warm up quicker.

I wrapped mine as soon as I got the bike.  (Well after the first 150 miles on it)
It will drop the temp of the pipe by your leg and will muffle the sound a little.
And yest it looks cool.

heat reduction yes! and performance ahh it does keep the exhaust chamber at a constant tempature which is a good thing for the valves. and dont paint it that back yard mechanics stuff , but dont buy it from a motorcycle shop cause its like 50-70 bucks when you can by somthing from a car mag like summit for 15 to 30 bucks same shit

I wrapped mine a while ago for looks and there is a specific silicon paint used to keep it from becoming brittle.

There is colored wrap available but just an FYI a decent amount of the dye comes would when you wet it so plan opn painting it anyway. It does however make painting easier becasue if there is a hard to get to spot or a spot you miss it is still relativiely black or the colr of your choice.
