I know most people don't care what they get for mileage. I on the other hand do. Simply because I get paid for how many miles I drive... My bike, right now gets 57-60 on the highway at 70mph. In town, i'll run around 50-54. Is there anything else I can do to my bike, to increase the mileage. I've done reroute breather mod, removed air scoop, and cut holes in the inner airbox. I run 20-50 amsoil and haev the NGK iridium plugs in. Which helped out alot with the popping of my jardine by the way.
Anywho, just wondering if any of you had suggestions.
oh and just for fun. What do you all get for mileage on your buell.
I have an 04 XB12R

Drive like you have sense, (which you probably are since your MPG's are better than mine), that's really about it, have *less* fun in the twisties, yes I know that is blasphemy but it would help just a tad...
MPG are listed City/Highway
47/58

Okay people from now on do it by tank....and for you that are using the metric system...
1 kilometer = 0.621371192 mi
For any of you that want to know how many kilometers per tank
1 mi = 1.609344 kilometers
I get about 217 km per tank (city driving)

I also average between 45-50mpg and I am not easy on the bike at all really. It does help in this insane gas craze we have going right now.
Does everyone know that gas was $1.46/gallon when Bush was elected? I can't wait for his ass to be out of office. He and his father single handedly ruined this country.

this is my 2 cents worth. just wish 2 cents was worth something now days .
and hey gas did start to really sky rocket until this last batch of greedy career politicians was elected to congress ..along with the oil companies and the dollar keeps going down worth les agianst the the euro and yen and such,.. you also need to take into account the greedy consumerism world we all live in .you gotta buy this buy that spend more then you make .
think of how many hours or days of your life it take to pay for that gas or what ever you might buy ........... sorry didnt mean to rant ,.but hey it is a free country.and I LOVE IT.
any ways
i get about 135 to 140 drivein 70-75mph before light comes on . then i fill it up all the way, it only gets to 2.7 gallons . and i get about 40 miles after light comes on drivin 70-75mph and got 60 miles drivin 45-50 mph after light came on. and when she stopped runing where the pump wasn't pickin up fuel there was about .25 (1/4) of a gallon of unuseable in the tank . i got .75(3/4)gallon left when my fuel light comes on . I also should note this is with 100%gasoline NOT gas with 10% ethanol in it (E10). (I dont run ethanol in my vehicles because it gives you crappy gas milageand it caused the gum build up and sediment from my tank and proably from the gas stations gas storage tanks to loosen up and clogg up my filter on my car and has cause problems to my co workers car's filter and injectors) i get about 50 to 53 mpg if i keep it around 75mph.

I have a stock 08 XB12R. I get about 40MPG. This is while riding to and from work and trips through the country side. No highway travel. I don't ride extremely hard, but I like to get to the speed limit as fast as possible.

Man be happy you get over 50 mpg! I have a 96 Buell S1 and I get 70 miles per TANK. Thats right, to the tank! When i get my XB12R in about 3 months, I'll be happy to not have to fill up 3 times a week! The best way to get the best possible mileage is to drive the speed limit. Ya it blows going that slow but it dose make a difference. The only other thing i can think of is to take off your muffler. Its load and not to mention illegal, but it helps.

You can safely go 30miles, more than that would be pushing it depending on any modifications you may have or individual driving style.
I accidentally ran it completely out of gas once, F-Trip was at 46, so I won't push mine past 30 unless I absolutely have to.
