Ok,so we have all sought out one of the most unique motorcycles on the market, and love them.We also know that even in mint condition, they have a somewhat low resale value. And yet we still have the urge to dump money into them, even to the point of having more money spent on aftermarket parts than we've paid for the bike.We must be either crazy or madly in love,I'd say a bit of both. So,how much did you buy your bike for,and what is the $ amount you are at in aftermarket/bolton parts?I bought my 03 XB9R for $4000 with 3800 miles on it.I now have about $2300 in aftermarket parts, and counting.

I got a new 07 XB12R for $8200 before taxes and licensing. No aftermarket parts so far. Planning spending around $1k very soon on intake, exhaust and a remap.

Yeah, it's frealing sick - aftermarket. I got some stuff at my bike. All in all the gear (+ some work costs) that is on costs more than this year model cost secondhand.
Also got lots of gear laying around, new and used. I can easily say i could put another $4-5000 in this bike without people even noticing much. Oh, where i live dollar is not the currency. We pay lots of more for our parts and labour.
A total alteration, talking looks and more tweaks. Like lots of paintjob + engine tweaks should cost me as much as two secondhand Buells of same model and year. When i put it one secondhand market all think they buy the bike for free. It's ph***ing sick.

gotta love europe...resale value for buell is in the same league as bmw, so that's excellent
but yea, you can count that no matter what mods you did on your bike, you'll never see that money back.
my buell cost me 12500$, stock (and that's used, slightly, but still used)...so it will take me about 2 more years to get to that same value in mods

Bought my 9R new so paid msrp, $8995(I think), plus financing fees. Put about $1200 in it so far. Muffler, fuel controller, air filter, and steering damper(if you guys don't have one get one the difference is amazing). I'm planning a $5-6000 engine build but I'm sure you guys know about money
