So just like it says, I'm going to get a 12 next year.. I finally convinced my wife that I really do need two bikes, I mean what happens if my bike breaks down? How will I get to work?

(I have an 06 Eclipse but I keep one tire too flat to drive on unless it's an emergency, then just whip out the air compressor and 10 minutes later I'm good to go)

She did ask me one thing though, "You ArE going to get another Buell RiGhT?" she's happy she can pick mine out of a crowd and she thinks it sounds better than those jap bikes.

So I wonder....

Should I go for the 1125CR or the 12scg? None of the other bikes are even an option for me really.

I'm looking forward to everyone's input, besides, it will make it alot easier for me to get her to ride if I have 2 sexy machines sitting in the driveway.

I'm SO HAPPY!!!

Ride 'em both. Only then will you be sure you made the right decision.

This is true... I love the torque on my 9, i'm going to get all giddy on that 12.

I know I would love to have a liquid cooled bike for the hot days. I dunno how hot it gets where you're at, but I think it would be nice to ride a cool bike on a hot day. Plus... your girl will really be able to pick a CR out of a crowd. But you have to get the black one! DDD!(dang dude dope)

scg is definatly more american muscle. The only downsides to the CR (i kind of like the look of them) are the BIG air scoops for the rads, and, Rotax builds some awesome motors but looks like it just doesn't have the torque of the Harley V-twins(down low)

May actually be close to a 9 down low then more than a 12 up in the revs? Don't know  never rode one

Sorry Thaloc, not even an option, I sat on a firebolt one time and just didn't feel right....Lighting/CR or bust...

Congrats on her approving.  I think I am actually getting rid of my XB9R soon.  I am trading it for a Seadoo Jet Boat!  I have always wanted one of those so I figured what the hell trade the Buell for it and I found someone to do it.  We will see if his wife says it is ok to get the bike.

If I were to get a second bike I would go with something besides a Buell.  Dont get me wrong...I love the Buell...but what do you want with two?  That's like having two 911's, one black and one red sitting in the driveway.  Both are cool....but give you the same feel.  Go for a totally different experience.  Like a 650 dual sport, a big sport touring bike, or a cruiser.  If I were you I'd get the new V-MAX.  If you really want a 12, get one and sell the 9.

The new VMax is insane.  They are $20k now though.  They do have 198hp and 125lbft of torque though.  I saw one at the Yamaha Dealer when I was at Laconia Bike Week.  They are insane for sure.  Worth every penny they ask for them now too.

to be honest...i would sell the 9 get a 12 and look for another bike for those relaxing rides.

cr? hell no!

Sell the 9...  You won't touch it after having the power difference of the 12 if you are going to buy another lightning.  A firebolt or 1125r would be a different thing with a different purpose, but having 2 of the same bikes to ride on the street is kinda dumb IMO.

Whether I keep the 9 or not depends on how much my wife enjoys riding, I'm going to be teaching her how to ride dirt starting in march, so it gives me plenty of time to decide to keep the 9 for her or not.
