For me the removal of the rear shock and the fan looks much simpler and quicker. The only issue I had was removing the O2 sensor which was ridiculously tight. Fortunately I was swapping the headers...

Everything is stock and I've had the bike from new. It's been serviced by Harley Dealers so can't imagine they'd bodge the screw. Not the same thread as any of the tappings on the lower fairing. ...
