Yes. Does it run for a while after you kill the ignition? If so, then you probably have the BUEZD config. If it only runs when you're riding it, you probably have a newer config.
I'm new to Buells and I puchased mine mid march of 2010. Its a lightning xb12ss. Its seeems like the cooling fan comes on an awfull lot even in 75 degree weather while riding. Is this pretty common? null

Yes it runs for a short time after killing the ignition- My friend put an extra air scoop on his and his fan hardly ever comes on. I want my engine to last and the fan too. Is this the best way to go?
mine comes on after i shut it off (and use the kill switch) almost after every ride. i almost wish it would come on while riding cuz my ass gets so hot!
Dave, your experience is totally normal. That's just how these air-cooled V-twins do. If you really don't like it, then look into getting a RSS and convince a dealer to give you the most recent flash for free.
Thanks for your imput, and my butt and right leg still get hot even when the fan is running while riding. Other than that and getting used to what seems like high gearing. I really like this bike-- It has the most comfortable seat and suspension Ive ever ridden on.--And on the highway-WOW
totally agree withtheoctopus
The Dealer won't do anything free anymore because they let go of Buell 7 YEARS ago.

You can change your fan settings with ECMDroid or if you install an EBR ECM, the fan protocol is less aggressive. Or just stick with the OEM settings if it doesn't bother you.
