OK so my question isn't about how to remove the wheel, but rather how to get and hold bike off the ground to do the job. A Harley guy at a shop said because of the shock location, he can't raise the bike with a jack. So for you DIY guys how do yall get this done? 02 x1. Thx

You need a sportbike lift that picks the bike up by the swingarm.

dont know about an x1 but on my xb12 I used those ratchet straps and hooked on to a car lift that I had raise up. you only need to get it a few inches of the ground.

He is doing the rear. You need a sport bike rear stand. There are some that just go under the swingarm like this one.

Or if you have spools you can get a spool stand.

Looking at this pic you should be good with just a swingarm stand. They have cheap ones at Harbor Freight which is where the first one is from and I use it on my XB all the time.

    Hope this helps.

Stamen. I don't have a cherry picker.;);););) Now as for the ladder photo, I could do that. I have a gorilla ladder and straps.
