Old thread here, but a few observations to add ... lots of talk in various threads re: quality (or lack thereof) with Buell/Harley bearings. My experience, including those I ride with, suggests that although the bearings are not of the highest quality, the bearings that go early were incorrectly installed at the factory. "Over-installed" you might say ... rammed into the hub instead of just 'making contact'. Overtight, they run hot, fatigue, & wear out quickly and are typically a b*t*h to remove. Experience suggests many dealers follow similar installation practices. Obviously, Harley/Buell & their dealers have lots of different guys installing bearings, so it's lottery when you buy your bike ... maybe you'll pull a winning ticket, and maybe you'll be replacing bearings in 2 months! I know guys on OE bearings w/25K, and I've replaced several sets with less than 5K.
