I just picked up a 2009 XB12scg. This is my third Buell; I had a 2003 XB9sl and a 2008 scg before this one. When I picked her up she was bone stock except for some Apirilia mirrors and some axle sliders:
My first mod was to adjust the suspension and delete those chicken strips:
Now she looks like this:
I sent the muffler off to Drummer to get done. While the bike was down I changed all fluids over to amsoil 20w50. I also went with some NGK iridium spark plugs, the old ones looked pretty worn:
Plus a K&N
and I got started on the tail chop, it's currently sanded down and primed for paint:
Still to go are the Drummer and EBR ECM, they are both in the mail.

I want to go black with red logo bodywork, like the 2009 firebolt. probably next year though because its time to ride.
The rear end is all cleaned up with a tail chop and new LED blinkers. I am still waiting on the drummer and ECU though. It's 70 outside and I can't wait to ride!
Plastidip black the underside of your plastics. It makes them appear black but in good sunlight there is a hint of red to it.
I recently pained my red Firebolt windscreen this way and it turned out amazing.

Oh9bolt, I like the idea, might try it. I even have some black plastidip in the garage.
Muffler is still not here, but I got some 50-dro axle sliders!
