    Brake switches

    Hi guys

Both my brake switches stopped working at the same time. Does the cold weather affect the switches? I got the front one working again, but the rear still doesn't come on. If it's the rear switch, does anyone know where I can get one shipped to Japan and if it's an easy job to replace?

    Thanks!

cold weather has no bearing whatsoever on either switch but a corrosive atmosphere does and japan has that in spades. all XB's have common nissin brand brake components including the switches. the switches interchange with many japanese "big 4" models. front switch is a button-type and can often times be brought back to life with some Kano-Kroil sprayed inside the housing. the rear is a pressure switch. some have cleaned goop and gunk out of the pressure port with success but that success typically short-lived. replace it.
    H-D/Buell part # is H0203.02A8
some sportsters also use this part # though i don't know which years and models.
there are multiple H-D dealerships in japan and any one of them could and should be able to order the switch for you. dealer system shows over 1000 still in stock

Wow, AZ I didn't know you do air delivery ?
While I'm talking to you, I'm getting a special ops muffler, I'm going to install it on one of the buells ( 08 ully or, 07 12SS ) do I need to have you do anything to the ECM ? Oh, I also have a K&N air filter that will go on the bike that gets the muffler.

    Sorry for changing post !

    Appreciate the responses guys, thanks.
I need it soon so I'll try a Harley dealer.
Does it require bleeding the brake fluid to fit it?

Sorry, one last thing. Is the following switch a suitable replacement?
    Goodridge bl775-03ch
There's one on Amazon and it looks the same.
    Thanks, again!

The rear switch will require bleeding.

Hi guys. Went to my local Harley dealer and he just said they didn't do Buell parts. Also said he couldn't help so I ordered a Goodridge switch on Amazon. Pretty sure it will fit ok.
    Thanks!
