    Xb9r

I have a 2003 Firebolt xb9r, and when I first start it it is quiet. after it gets warm you can hear rocker arm noise, not real bad but it is there. However, after running for about twenty minutes it quiets way down, so my question is...is my oil too heavy, I use 20/50, or is my oil too thin? Thanks for your reply, btw I'm in Michigan where the weather can range from 40 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

20w-50 should be fine for that temp range. You could even go to 50W in the warmer weather.
How many miles? Honestly, these things are loud clanky beasts...

I have 32,000 miles on it. I use Amsoil v-twin 20/50 oil. I just bought the bike and I'm new to Buell, but I did have a Soft-Tail Fatboy for many years in the early 2000's. I do not remember the Fatboy having this much top-end noise...Perhaps I need louder exhaust.
