    Knocking Sound

I have a strange knocking sound in my motor. It almost seems intermittent because I don't always hear it. I don't know how to tell what it is. Any ideas?

extreme slop in the primary chain. adjust it out. simpler to click below than for me to walk you thru the procedure. perform at room temp.

It seems to be coming from the bottom end. That's why I'm a little concerned. I'm hoping that it is maybe exhaust gaskets, I've heard that sometimes makes it sound funny... I'll be installing those tonight. Any other ideas other than totally destruction?

Could be a lean knock, as in lean on fuel.

If you own a screw driver with hopefully a wooden handle... stick it in your ear. No, not the pointy end

With the handle to your ear, put the tip of the screw driver all over the engine while it's knocking. Take a picture where its the loudest and post it.

Put a magnet probe/grabber/magnet whatever you want to call it in your oil tank and let us know what it looks like when you pull it out. If it has an Afro, you most likely got some type of internal engine/bearing issue.

BTW what year, make and model is your bike?
