I was sent a copy of the 03 XB9 race map and it's saved as a note pad text file. How do I import it to ECMSPY? I go to load maps and can't seem to grab the file.

Thanks!

Wish I could get a copy of a '03 XB9 race map...Too bad I don't know how you can get the test file into ECMSPY.

How do I import it to ECMSPY?Use "Load EEPROM" instead of "Load Maps", and open the Notepad file.

OK, so now that I've got the map loaded is it as easy as clicking "Burn Eeprom"? Looks strait forward but after reading the tuning guide I'm still apprehensive about ****ing something up.

Yep...I did it last night and it was that easy...quite surprising!

Do not burn the race eeprom to our stock ecm or it may brick your unit. This is true unless you have an '03 model. If you have '03+ then the easiest way is to open up two screens of ecmspy, one of the stock map and the other as a race map, then copy the timing and fuel values for both the front and rear cylinders over to your stock map.

Yes, mine is an 03 so I should be good to go or would you still say copy the values over for safeties sake?

For an 03 as long as ecm version numbers match you should be fine.

Again...as a side note. I burned the Race ECM EEPROM onto my stock ECM...worked fine...mine is a 2004.

Thought I'd throw that in. While understanding the dangers of "burning" the ECM should be considered, there is enough info out there about the procedure that I would say it is a risk worth considering.

This whole ecmspy map deal scares the hell out of me I'd love to download a race map of some kind on my 07 xb9r but even with all the threads and how to's on this topic I'm still confused.

If I have a race map do I understand that all I need to do is load it and that's it?

My lap top wont hold a battery charge anymore even with a new battery so at the present time cannot data log.
