I didnt ask for it but one of my buddies told me he was setting up a race for me. I got an 09CR w/ D&D K&N and race ecm. The other kid has an 07 600rr im sure his has exhaust and mabe a power commander. Ive seen on youtube an 09R and a 09 600rr run the same 1/4 mile times do i have a shot.

This is just a 1/4 mile drag?
No corners involved ?

I would say yes, but like most things when it comes to motorcycles the rider is a great impact on the outcome.

I ran 1/4 mile with my bike and fell short of the 600's by roughly .3-.4 of a second, and I only have a '03 xb9r

You have a real good shot on a 1125. Now an XB, noway! You should be fine! Kick his butt!

Nice job extremelow, I'm just feeling that's not a true test of the 1125.
But what do I know...

If its just a straight line, you will beat the 600. I have done that on my 1125 several times and won every single time. BUT maybe with the right rider on the 600 the tables could turn...who knows. Let us know how it goes.

I'd say a legit race is against a liter bike more than a 600.

Yes, Don't do it.
You two squids mix it up on a public road and then they post pictures your intestines all over a guardrail on the 6 o'clock news.
Then we wonder why our insurance rates keep going up and other drivers hate us?[mad]

I have no problems beating 600s and 650s on my 12s

my on the street my xb will easily beat 600's to the next stop not sure on quarter mile distance, and as long as i shifted right i think it would hold a few wins, i used to have 06 R6 and im pretty sure my xb would beat it, at least through 1/8 mile.

If you have never raced I would say go tO a track a couple times and get tge feel for your bike otherwise you will get to excited and just keep bogging out the bike with soft starts or pulling the front over backward.

The factory performance numbers on the 1125 are comparable to a GSXR-750. With riders of equal skill levels, an 1125 should beat any 600, drag strip or road course, all day...

It all depends on a riders skill as stated above. A firend just got an 09 zx10r and I beat him in the 1/4 this weekend no problem. Made hime mad but put a smile on my face. He kept telling every one he would lead our group but he didnt know if we could catch him. The 12s shut him up.
