So my wife wants to start riding and wants a black blast to match my 1125R. I know, I know... but what ever.

Anyway, she is pretty short (5'2") so worried she won't be able to reach the ground. Any input on this?

Also- There was one on ebay in Tenn. a while back that had an XB swingarm and rear tire set up. Was that someone on here?

I think a Blast would suit her well. They're really stinkin low to the ground as it is, let alone if you lowered it any for her.

besides the seat, I guess there are suspension lowering options.

I bet she'd fit fine. You could also bring home a 12scg and just stick some blast stickers on it so you can ride it when she's not around ;)

My wife has one... She's about 5'2".... Plenty of stand over.... Enough power to keep her happy and to keep up.... I offered her whatever she wanted in a new bike but she loves her Blast.....

get a lowered one period. but they still are 350lb and 500cc, so be careful.

@Bossanova Lets hope its not that guy who will let it go for a couple BJ. Wow! I can't believe that guy would post something like that. It made my day though. Anyway, that would be a good bike for her. Actually, any bike is good as long as she can touch the ground.

I just received a Blast for my anniversary from my husband and sons. It's great I love it to death. It is my first bike, I am about 5'8" and I fit well on it. It is actually a little too low for me, so your wife should do fine with it. Of course the yellow color I could do without, but the price was great couldn't let the color be a factor. There is one in the Paper shop in Pa they have a web page papershop.com think it was going for 1800.00 something like that.
Hope I helped

Well I went and did it. Found this 2004 on CL and drove over to Sarasota and picked it up today. My wife is in Venezuela until the 17th and she doesn't know. It will be a big surprise!

The guy removed most all of the plastic/shrouds. Has lower sport bike type bars and V&H exhaust. I think it will be perfect for her to learn on.
Thanks for all the input from everyone. I'm sure I will have a lot more questions.

btw..
No BJ's involved thank god. Gave $1400 for it. He was asking $1900 Seemed fair to me going by what others were asking on ebay and CL.

That one looks pretty cool, cleaned up the rear end by removing the fender and some plastics? Nice, I like some of the things some people have done to them like the ones from Rebel Racing or whoever makes the cafe' racer one.

Yeah the guy had already had it just like you see it. Everything he removed is in a box. I like the little cafe fairings look too- just checked into them on ebay. Forgot to mention, the seller threw in a pit-bull stand for the Blast. Was wondering if it will fit or adapt to my 1125?? Looks like the brackets will flip around and get wider but not sure where the thing lifts the 1125.

Wow, looks like a great learner bike for her and I like the minimalized look of it. Also like the trailer, minimal but looks like it works great?

Thanks Its kinda growing on me too. Hope the wife likes it too. Its not perfect but not too shabby for an 04. The guy did the bent intake mod and air filter, super clamp and V&H exhaust. The trailer is a "Trailer in a bag" These are made here in S. Florida. Its been a great trailer. Check out the web site. Good for trailering somewhere- when you get there just take it apart and toss it in the truck.

Really nice over there. Almost bought a house over there a couple years back. In Miami for now because of work.
