Hi all,

Bought my first bike in 15 years over Christmas... got this really, really awesome Ducati 696 used that's a great, great bike, but I'm a 250lb guy and now realizing I wish I had bought bigger...

...and that I hadn't let my italiophile motorcycle mentor talk me out of a Buell.

So instead of waiting for my 696 to sell, I thought I could post here and see if anybody wants the Duc in trade. It's awesome, nothing wrong with it, and in fact I know I will miss it when it's gone. I just want something I don't look like Shrek on.

Blue Book is $7200 (7500 miles on it), but it's due for 7500 mile service so street value is more like $6K right now. Very close to a newer XB12s. That service will be ~$500 depending where you go.

Think folks in CA, NV, and AZ would be most likely to trade with. Contact at nate@nateweaver.net if interested.

Any takers?

If you're within 250 miles of LA, and it's clean and relatively low milage, go ahead and email me.

Wow, are you sure you want to trade? I really like my 1125R, mostly because its different and the coolness factor is off the chart. BUT. Its full of bugs that are irritating, warrenty is a nightmere and if they will work on it it seems its always the "mechanic" who just graduated from box boy to head fry cook and parts especially after market parts are as common as virgins at the mustang ranch. If you want a Buell, go into it with your eyes open. People who own Buells really really love Buells for what they are and are willing to live with what comes with them. Just my two cents. BTW, nice duke.

As far as not looking like shrek, keep in mine that Buells are pretty small bikes. Never rode a Ducati, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not bigger than a Buell already.

Believe it or not, that 696 is smaller than a XB. Not by a ton, but enough for me.

It's like 4/5ths scale!
