Anyone out here or further knowing about rearset kits?
I have searched high and low and mailed and phoned just about everywhere (feels like it anyway!) to find a rearset kit that offers.

1. Better distance between footpeg and shifter.
2. Dropping the feets leaving me a more relaxed leg position.

I think the XB/s is too tight between footrest peg and shifter. I know the r model is even worse, but as i have 46 size it's god damned tight even with the XB/s. I want added comfort and space. Ultimately for me (long feet and legs), would be to have the pegs dropped down 1.5 cm and more distance between the footrest peg and shifter.

Cutting (shortening the shift lever arm) the shifter arm makes a problem, atleast theoretically. As it gets shorter it could also mean that it gets heavier to shift. So, anyone???
Seen anything smart that works out?

Thanks!!!
/R

search and you will find (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Lightning-XB12S-XB12Ss-CityX-XB12Scg/Rearset-Opinion)...

just browse some of the major buell aftermarket parts online shops and you'll get several options.
twin_motorcycles (http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/index.asp?guid=YXHFSC&cid=109&a=&s=) (my buds!)
r&r-customizing (http://www.r-r-customizing.de/shop_b_eng/index.html?target=dept_9.html&lang=en-us)
free-spirits (http://en.freespirits.it/catalog/controls_en.php)
BKG (http://www.bkg-motorradzubehoer.de/product_info.php?info=p90_Footpegs-Buell-XB-9-R--12-R-S.html&XTCsid=0dce2c74c529a767d953e41323908427)
etc...

you can find brands like lsl, rizoma, bkg, sato, etc which make adjustable rearsets...

Yeah, i've checked some of them. But according to the guys they will not add comfort and space. These kits (according to info from sellers) offer a more racestyled approach. That is 100% sure for sato and free spirits anyway.
But i will try a few others!
Thanks..[up]

Yeah but they are adjustable correct? You dont need to set them up in the race style position.

I asked Al of American Sportbike about the Sato and the guy at Free Spirits about their rearset. I got almost the same answer. Both of these kits (Sato and Free Spirit rearset) offered at it's closest same (or close) set up as original XB/s. The other options was more race approached and completely working in the opposite direction from what i was looking for. I had a similar answer regarding the Rizoma rearset. I just asked about the BKG rearset and maybe this offer 1 cm more distance between footpeg and shifter. This is pending from where it's measured, from axis of the peg and shifter, or from the facing sides of the peg and the shifter? I really would like to know 100% before any decisions are made, since these are quite expensive. Ofcourse we have RRC and Gilles. I have not any numbers of these and i can't say if they offer more space.

Next question is, if there are any possiblity of lowering the footpeg more than original XB/s footpeg.
If anyone bought any of these kits or have any experience of them, i gladly listen.

What amazes me is that none of these kits seems to have foldable pegs? Both Traction pegs and original pegs are foldable. Why not, i wonder.

you're probably correct sin...the 1st original rearsets of the XB were higher, but since they had several complaints of bad riding positions for taller people, they lowered the pegs of the newer versions.

the problems you have now is why they made the long version.

so i think it's either getting used to it or making ones yourself.

Brackets and pegs and such from the Uly. They are considerably lower than those on the S. Just a thought.

a cheaper alternative is the cycle pirates 360 degree pegs. Fully adjustable. I have a set and like them a lot.

Puzzled over on buelletinboard sells them

Knight Design makes 1" drop pegs, and I think 2" as well.
