Has anyone ever seen one in person? I have seen them on the web but never on the street. Anyone know of a Police Department that uses them?

I saw one at a dealership, they said in order to sell it to a private citizen they would have to take the police lights off.

that'd go well with my car! Police on the scene, you know what I mean?

Gastonia, NC has (had?) one. I almost ran off the road when I saw it the first time.

One arrived in Belgium... ( brand new ) it was on sale at the normal Harley 's from around the corner... ( registred dealer ).
Honnestly... !!! when I saw it ... !!! ... could not resist... Just cracked for it... Incredible ... at my age ... ( as my daughter and wife say )...
Am almost 56 .. and just cracked as when I bought my first 750cc .... ( for myself.... for my 18th birtday... with my own money... honnestly earned doing vacation jobs since years .. usualy hard labour.. maconnery etc.. )
It was a Ducati... GT .. brand new... I saw it on a motorshow in Brussels in 1971... It was a kind of introductionbike ... and actually managed to buy it.... ( there were a few different models ) ... one ( a 750S ) went to an at that time Belgian famous racer ... ( Jacky Ickx ... F1 .. 24 hrs Francorchamps.. Le Mans etc .. )
Mainly for publicity reasons I was told...
But the 750GT.. polyester tank... black... very fast... "owning the corners" ( in those days )... was in the press.. etc but ... for sale ..
I was first on the list ... ( made by the importer ) and it was mine.... What a feeling...
Many years and several bikes later... Mostly Ducati, but also Laverda, Benelli, BMW... and yes... a Kawasaki and a Honda... bought a Buell... second hand ... a Blue Stripe Milennium special 191/350... from a collegue of mine ( stopped motorcycling ).
Loved it but ... maybe I was getting old.... You know... after all those years.. think you' ve seen it all... and went to the Harley dealership to trie out some ... for me... different machines...
Times change... but a Harley.... ??? Well tried out severall machines... Electra, V-Rod, Muscle, Fat Bob, XR, etc... Nothing happened... No chemistry at all...
Was eventually thinking of buying a Street Glide... something that better suits my age... as my entourage ( wife / doughter .. etc ) can say so gently.. but there was no demo available ... luckely..
A couple af weeks later... back at the dealers... there was this white XP..... what a bike... was 18 again... at almost 56... can you imagine...
Do not know why I am telling these in fact so personnal things to people I do not know...( probably far away from where I live )... but am so happy with it...
Have had so many bikes but this XP is certainly one of my favotites... the way it feels.. reacts... etc..
Great to have and fun to ride..
God bless you all

Me again,

Forgot to say that although it was new... It was delivered with the original Hepco and Becker cases
but without the Sirene and Emergency light kit ..
Naturally, would like to have them... Just for fun..
Can someone help...
Thanks in advance...

The Gastonia officer works I-85 in the AMs. Not clear whether it's motorist assistance or enforcement. Pardon me if I try not to find out. [smirk]

I have a 2009 XP with 600 miles with light kit and siren in white with 4yr HD ESP its getting the 1k service now waiting to get her back and can post pics. I maybe willing to part I'm considering a new Duc multistrada. I've got a 2010 SCG also with 620 miles that I am currently parting with considering the a fully loaded Multistrada is almost 20k. Did I mention I also have a 2007 Suz M109 with 3k miles extended warranty til 2011 up for grabs. I know I know the misses is all over me and my toys says I only got 1 butt so why I need so many bikes considering my other toys and hobbies. Would love to keep the Xp and Multi both just don't know how to justify it considering the amount of riding I do with my hectic schedule is limited.

are there any other differences in the XP vs. the X? (suspension, performance, tuning, ecm, etc) or is it just an X with lights and siren option? these are great looking bikes and would love to own one just because. not sure about laws driving around here with red and blue lens, even if lights arent on!

my mate Jef (octopusenvy) imported one to NZ from USA last year, with the Full Police kit.

looks mint.

According to the dealers there do are some differences.... front disc slightly thicker, .. different bearings in the rear axle... different oilpump.. also a bit longer ( probably very little... a few inches maybe ) . .. is a heavy duty model.. so is supposed to be a bit better... say assembled more attentively... don' t know about the mapping... is heavier ( normal when fully equiped )... also heated handgrips.... if you find one... lights and siren can probably be used on private grounds... meetings etc... can cover them up rest of the time.... or replace one of the lights.... can be blue/blue or red/red... ( parts manuel ) .... maybe by white ones ( carparts store ).
Topcase ( also has lights ) can be removed easily.. without removing the X-MAS lights mounted on it...
This is a 2010 model... posted some more pictures of it earlier... see XB12XP....
Ciiaaaoooo... !!!

The Gastonia PD apparently sold the Uly some time ago. As near as I can figure, the city has one motor officer. Since the Uly, I saw him briefly on a H-D police bike, and most recently on a BMW R1200RT-P.

They do exist.

I just bought a 2009 w/o the lights and am loving it so far. Looking for an aftermarket exhaust and stereo for it. Any recommendations?
