I just got back from Hawaii for a week and a half, and Vegas for a week and a half and the headlight cover was finally returned to me. It was supposed to be painted a long time ago, but the guy never had time. I decided to just paint it black. Im gonna add a tiny bit of color to it, and lower the whole headlight unit another 1/2 an inch, followed by a new front brake line, and then its pretty much finished! I know in between going to Hawaii, and Vegas i was gonna sell it, but I think ill keep it for the season.

[up][up][up]

I would say a different color or even a flat black on the chin fairing would help finish it off, then a K&N filter to drop the blue with a custom air box delete cover[up]

Bike looks great, the mask is something I would have to get use to but I do like how it hides the small amount of clutter behind it

Well, its not for sale anymore :) atleast not till after this riding season. I'll decide over winter if i wanna sell it or not.

I like the stock exhaust. I had a D&D on there but it was too loud for me. I like how quiet the stocker is. Id go aftermarket if i can find one as quiet as stock, but with a deeper tone.

I think it looks great. I think the mask is ok where it is, but would probably look better if it was dropped a little to line up with the frame.

I'm a big fan of quiet exhausts too. The only reason I'd normally care to swap one is because stock exhausts are so huge and ugly, but obviously that's not a problem with the XB. I with there were more options for good sounding quiet pipes.

HAIbikeshop.com The guys name is Mark he has helped with several custom brake lines for my fighter projects. He can basically put you together anything you need, just tell him what length and what angle of fittings you need!

Where did you buy the fork covers? I went to the Showyomoto website and could not find them. If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Evil awesome work. If you want an exhaust with deeper tones and a stock feel as far as torque but with great pull from mid to high end check out my exhaust mod. You have the ability to make it. Pretty simple. Check out "Modded XB12 Exhaust" its on page 6 or 7 of the main thread. It might be what you are looking for.

EvilMechanic, You mind sending my triple clamp back to me. Looks like you got it back from the powder coaters. Kinda bogus that this is how you treat someone that borrowed you a part...but I want that back.

Hey Evil, I think you made a seperate thread on your timing cover, but what did you use to cut it?
And then did you just paint that square-ish pulley plate?

Evil Mechanic
06-08-2010, 02:38 AM
you mean the front pulley cover? I used a wiz wheel for the basic hole, and then followed it up with a pencil style die grinder with a very small cutting bit @ about 40,000 rpms hooked up to an air compressor. Its basicly a smaller, more professional version of a dremel. Just take your time and follow the natural lines. I painted the pulley and nut black, and the nut locking plate red.

12SX- dude, I can't even get gas w/o being mobbed lol. Its great!
