Just to let everyone know, all of the Race ECM's that are out right now are pending obsolete. What that means is, once they sell what they have left in stock in the stores and warehouses, they will no longer be available to buy.

32814-02YA - '03-'04 XB9R AND XB9S

Anybody thinking of adding these to their bikes, better be quick about it.

If anybody has any more questions, please let me know

As of right now, no. I wouldnt plan on it. They got rid of the Race Kits, I wouldnt be surprised if they got rid of these too.

So they replacing it with something else?

because of more demand for remaps & dyno time, everybody will invest in a dyno and remap the oem ecm.

result: more demand = cheaper = better running bike

What does this mean for all of the after market exhaust systems? K&N?

Probably nothing. The pipes and everything probably wont change at all. It will probably do at least one good thing for the market. It will push aftermarket companies to mproduce easily installable/easily tunable ECM tuners or stand alone systems. I would start giving the power commander guys a call. The more of you that call and request that they make something, the more they will be likely to come out with something..

Buell is probably trying to avoid a show down with the EPA, don't forget the bikes pass a sniff test using the stock ecm and once you replace them it changes the emmissions standard for that particular motor. Believe me, EPA could care less about emmissions, Jesse James sold roughly 20 bikes that didn't meet the CA requirements and they suit, he offered to retrofit the bikes and they declined, rather collect the fines than make engines run clean.
