Does anyone on here have any info on the NRHS 1050 or 1200 kit for the xb9, or even better does anyone have the kit installed? Im looking into the 1050 kit for my 05 xb9sx and was wondering if its worth the money. thanks

I also want one. My motor seized when the oil pump went out if I replaced the pump and pit on the 1050. Or 1200. Kit would that fix it?

it depends if your bottom end needs work. if the top end is the only thing bad then yea that would fix it cause it comes with all new cylinders, pistons and rings.

My motors still good but i got an oil leak from a bad cylinder base gasket. I figured if im gonna pull the motor apart i might as well throw some parts at it and $700 doesnt sound too bad.

10 hp doesnt sound like much but combined with pipe filter and race map that would give you more power than a 12 and it would probley rev alot faster. I'm just wondering if anybody out there actually has it and how much difference it really makes.

The 10 hp is with some head work as well. The kit that produces that is 1500. The rep from NHRS said that the number he gave me was on the low end but that is how he always quotes them.

so if its that much it definitly doesnt seem worth it to me

i have their 1250 kit in my 12... if i had a 9 id deffinatly hav the 1050 kit! if you do the 1050 right with some moderate head porting pipe airbox and GOOD tuning you can see quite a bit above 10 RWP improvement...

if you have any quesions on stuff fron NRHS just ask or ALWAYS feel free to give them a call... they are super nice ppl out there and will work with you with anything...

just keep in mine if you go with that kit you have to send your block out to get it machined so the stroker crank will clear... unless your a machinest and have access to a decent mill...

The NHRS kit is bolt on though, correct?

just looked on the site and found the answer.

Also do u have stock heads or are they ported? and do you have the iron lined cylinders or aluminum lined?
thanks

I'm assuming those questions were directed at me...
I'm going to take the case to have it bored by a local (reputable) machinist. And I will use the stock heads assuming the damage to the front head is reparable. (See previous post about my recent catastrophe.)

Then I will have them (head and kit) ported a polished.

Haven't sprung on the bolt on kit yet, awaiting the prognosis on the head.

10 HP at the wheels is a lot! I know it's more than $700 with any machine work and labor that's involved but 10 HP on a 400lb bike is big time gains.

if i keep the heads stock and do the work myself then it should only cost $700 since the kit is bolt on.

Did anyone ever end up trying this 1050 kit out? I need some more power but dont have a lot of money to spend.

i think its not really the best bang for the buck but if you have everything else done like intake, exhaust and good tune then maybe try this. also you could try xb12 throttle bodies and exhaust. i think with a good tune u can get pretty good power with those mods
