[confused]I need advice on a good rear fender eliminator and turn signals/brake light. Anybody have any good advice. What is the best/worst and what is too much to pay? Ebay has not been much help unless you all know something I don't.

My buddy has this one:

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/9031.html

It's very nice, and bolts right one, but look at the price!

There's a shop called "Special-Ops" (can't seem to find it right now), that will modify your "Cheese Grater Holder for $150.

Cut and shape it yourself. It not to hard and you can make it how you want it.

Definatelly do your own. I did mine in a few hours outside of paint. Thats the only way to go.

I saw a buell in a mall parking lot the other day with a duel LED brake light/blinker setup. the lights were round and the center lit up for brakes and the outer rings were the blinkers. it looked very clean, but I wasnt able to get to the rider to ask about em. Anyone know where to get something like that?

Make your own definitely...I have a post on here with pics as do others...His&Her's did one too but a little more fancy. It looks like a bigger/harder job than it really is.

this one?

Nope. Not even close. It's two round tail lights, each round light has two parts. A solid "inner" circle and a ring around the circle. The parking lamps are the inner circle parts and the turn signals are the rings. I looks similar to the shark nose/ermax eliminator. Only cleaner and more light.

the lights are easy to find...you'll get the ones you want for about 45$, but it's the fitting.

so if it's not the shark or ermax, then it's custom made. without more info it's hard to say.

Now I'm matching (damn close) factory paints. Email me with any questions or advice on DIY tails.

Hey BG, where do you live? Interested in maybe doing my tail for me? I have no access to equipment, and I have always been horrible with paint...

I have to say that I like these http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/180.html from a design standpoint. Since the buell has two headlights these give a very nice simetry and carry over of that theme.

I am sure you want the "Sharknose" tail set from SpeedOfColour in Germany.

http://www.speed-of-color.de/index.php?cat=PROMOTION&product=SOC-XBHB-016

It includes LED lights and license plate holder.

It is also on my list.

The problme I have recently found after emailing about the tailpieces is that some don't come with turn signals or any provisions for them.

Just wondering if anyone has a fender eliminator from hillbilly motors? their tail pieces are very clean but i can't find a way to contact them. to be honest, i don't know if they even sell them but would just like to know either way.

Thanks for all of the info in this thread. I took some time this weekend to do the tail tidy on my 08xb12ss. It took more time than I thought, but I am really happy with the results! I painted the end piece and will install it tomorrow.

Thanks Gov875!
It took me a couple hours on a saturday to grind and smooth the tail piece. The hardest part was keeping the grinder from cutting too much! I taped off the line I wanted to cut, but found it easiest to follow the underside of the tail piece, that is why I cut it upside down. The grinder wheel cuts and smoothes at the same time. I used a can of the best black spray paint from my local hardware store and it matches fairly well.
Good luck on your project,
Dennis

If you are opposed to doing it yourself, you can send your rear fender to Randy Hawkins from Hawk Exhausts and he will do it for a very reasonable price. I'd bet you can get it shipped back and forth and modified for under $100. If you buy a muffler from Randy he will usually do the fender mod for free or $20 or something like that.

hope you havnt purchased one becasue i read all the posts and didnt see the best IMO, check out http://www.xblights.net/ i literally just got mine in yesterday and the quality is rediculous. Little pricy but well worth it to me, cant wait to put it on this week. Check them out they also have youtube videos and its a brake blinker combo LED setup all within the tailight.

I've been trying to find a license plate relocater without blinkers because I have integrated blinkers, but I'm not having any luck? I thought about cutting it and doing it myself, but where does the license plate mount on to?
