OK This is where buell brothers can post their mods and ideas to share with others. I currently am awaiting my 07 xb12r within days and my wife's 07xb9r. Before we take them home i need to get my wife's lowered or her legs stretched! Any ideas will be helpful and appreciated. I had an idea for mine already and could use a little help.I want to put some led lights under one of those translucent air box covers. I think it would really shine but I dont know if they make the plastics for it yet... Any other ideas or right out the box alterations that would help lemme know!!!!

To lower you wifes bike, just buy a XB12SCG rear shock assembly and install that.

And to put a translucent air cover on your bike, just buy any of the ones off of a Lightning. All the air box covers are interchangeable.

Part number - K0410.1AE

Cost - $267.00

This will lower you roughly 3/4 - 1 inch

Any suggestions for some kind of bike to bike communicator that we can get for when we are riding? I've seen a few but not sure quality

Another question for ya!!! Ever seen an airshock installed on one of these? I thought that finding one to fit might be hard but would it lower the bike when deflated?

You probably already know but i found out today that you can lower the front forks by removing the clips in the upper trees!!

Never seen an airshock. Doesnt mean its not possible. And yes you can slide your forks down in your trees slightly. Not too much though, it might effect your handling.

Modification to the suspension in which the bike is lowered or raised will have an affect in handeling. Keep in mind that the rake and trail were designed for specific purposes. Be careful when doing any mods such as these. Upgrading your suspension is one thing, modification is another.

I need it for my wife's bike. Its her 1st and she's only 5'4 . I think lowering it just to get her started will be ok as long as she doesn't try draggin her knee in a curve lol
