First, no there's not any huge functional gain by changing the OE fuel cap.

Yeah, now some idiot could either thieve the cap, or diddle with my fuel.

No, this isn't to make it easier to fuel up at the track.

It just looks schweet!

too many people have their key break off at the pump leaving them stranded.

this is a functional upgrade [up]

(or at least that's what I'll say to justify it to the other half :D)

I have one too. It just makes it easier, plus like stated above it always felt like my key was gonna break off

Jeebs. When I first caught wind of this thing, it was $99 from EBR. I thought about it about a day too long, and a) it went up to $129, and b) it went out of stock, for about four months! So, it went to $139, and now $169? Hm. Well, at least it's less than the $199 I've seen it for.

A new set of keys...after breaking key off in gas cap...$28.00

Shopping Spree by wife...after meeting me with spare key at 6:30 AM...$175.00

New keyless gas cap...priceless.

Hi Baal, Any chance you can pull the gas cap off and take some photos of the bottom of the outer ring and plug?
I'm trying to see if we can match this up to a Jap bike one some we can buy the cheapy ones off ebay.
If it's too much trouble don't worry, I though I'd just ask.
Thanks, Stellio.

After awhile the key does start to take a bit to much force to turn, and the thought of it breaking is always there,a smart investment.

Hi, stellio. Go to THIS thread (http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?14078-Erik-Buell-Racing-Ilmberger-Fuel-Cap-review), and scroll down to posts #25 and #26. There are really good pics (not mine, but still). The issue is that the opening in the frame/tank on the Buells is much smaller than on other bikes. That's why the one on the other thread won't work, because even though the bolt pattern looks similar, the holes are much farther apart. Sorry to give bad news, but I hope that helps.
