Just a short Review but he cannot use the buell name after 12/12. Has plans to re enter the street bike market and still is not talking about any future plans with Bombardier or Can-Am

The article in Motorcyclist said he couldn't sell Buell motorcycles after this month! Makes me wonder what the new bikes will be called.

the article brings back a lot of the bitterness that i felt a year ago. someone needs to kick keith wandell right in the taint. I hope he pays people to search the internet for his name so he can read that.

I figured he was just going to go with EBR too when I was reading the article.

While i think it's cool that Erik is developing a street bike under EBR , I really hope he's able to hook up with a company like Bombardier/ CanAm to produce an affordable bike for the average guy to purchase. A bike like the 1190RS will have such a high price point that most guys will just have a poster of it and only wish instead of ride .[smirk]

So if I read this right, there will no longer be EBR
come the new year! So does that mean that we will no longer be able to buy race parts for our Buells? Looking a picking up a 1125r and would like to still be able to get these pasts. Any input!

I believe the no compete clause ends next month; we may see the 1190RS street bike this year!

I believe the no compete clause ends next month; we may see the 1190RS street bike this year!

The no-compete clause was over in either May or June of last year. I heard it directly from EB himself at the front door of the race shop in June at Homecoming that he had already been released. I don't know the exact date of the release, but it's irrelavant at this point since he's released from it. The 1190 is in the works but won't be raced at Daytona this year, Geoff May will be on the 1125RR for that race. That bit of info was posted on GM's facebook page, as well as a couple of other sites.
After that, it's up in the air. I had heard some info about the number of bikes required to be for sale, but I don't know how accurate it is. Something like 18 at the 1st race, 36 later on and 75 by year end. If they're all hand built, that's a TALL order for 10 guys to build and also run a race shop. I think the other major hurdle is, they might have to be priced UNDER $40,000 to meet the AMA rules, although I have NO data to back that price point up.
