So I'm looking to buy 2000 m2. The bike has 22000 miles. It looks like the body parts were taken off. It needs a clutch, but all the parts are there.
Is 1700 a good price?
What would you pay for it?
Thank you for your time.

Price seems good, the bike is probably worth close to $1k more than that, even though it has the parts off and needs a clutch.

BUT if it has other issues then the price will drop. But I would say if he is asking $1700 and you get it for $1400 you should be golden no matter the issues.

I payed 2K for my M2 about 2 months ago. Guy had it on consignment at 1 of the local HD dealers for 2700. It had 33K miles on it. It was a complete, good running bike though. Only thing it will need soon is a new front tire. After i got it i changed all the fluids, wires, plugs, etc. Fixed the guys breather reroute job, since he just ran a hose down to the front of the motor, no filter or drain, or catch can and had oil and crud spraying down the motor. Took everything off the bike, cleaned up all the oil and crud accumulated over the years really good. Since i had all the bodywork off, and i didn't really like the blue i gave it a sweet rattle can flat black paint job. Put it back together and she runs like a champ. http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/8134_20101115130216_L.jpg

Yeah I wouldn't pay that much unless the clutch was done first and you could get a real feel of how it runs.

needs a clutch? is it good enough to ride it too see how everything is or needs clutch as in clutch is F'ed up or what where its not ridable. need more info than that is it running .. if its running talk him down telling him what it would cost to have a new clutch installed or fixed at some shop. so what i would do is this $1700 minus the cost of clutch new, minus any other broken missing parts, minus another $50 to $500(maybe more) . remember and maybe remind him , selling bikes in winter time they go for alot less, and double check the title to be free and clear, , find anything and everything you can to knock the price down or have them fix it first, if your not tech savy take it to a reputable bike shop to have everything checked out for a prebuy inspection. get there check list of whats good, whats is SUGGESTED and whats REQUIRED , for your list to show him to bring the price down ,& to help you decided if you want to buy the bike, if he does not let take it to a shop (with or Without you) then be VERY WARY of it , it may have problems he dont want you to know about, dont leave him alone with the techs or take to a shop of techs he knows as he may pay them off or something.
my Two pennies worth. good luck.
will this be your first buell?

I found a very clean garage kept 2000 m2 with 9k miles for 2.3k, This bike is flawless and runs beautifully.
I would have to recommend keep looking and watching craigslist.
