Just throwing it out there, I have an '08 Scg and am looking at trading my rear shock, front forks, and kickstand for a regular S setup. According to what I've read here, if you have an '05 or later bike we'll have to swap lower triple clamps also. Forks are silver.

Throw me on the list!

I have a standard 2003 XB9S. Forks rebuilt about 3-4k ago. 23k on everything else including BLUE shock.
Forks are silver. No Problems on the lower triple, I need to replace my steering head bearings anyhow. ( not from wheelies! I'm too big of a puss for those! )

Let me know, I'm very interested!!

i'll stop wasting your time and step aside. take Robert up on his offer, he's a good guy to deal with.

one of my fork tubes has a shallow gouge in the surface. not really sure what caused it. saw it after i pulled teh forks for re-build. and i bougered up one of the pre-load adjusters durring the re-build, so it looks ugly now. it is 100%functional, but i doubt anyone would want to trade for it, especially when others are available.

Whoa man, I'm second in line here. You two can see what you can work out and if it's a no go then so be it and I'll bat :-)

But by all means give it a whirl!

PS: "Nilla" is a great guy to work with as well!!

And now for something completely different, two guys arguing over who gets to be second in line. lol!

Rahsevensevensevensevensevensevenseven My forks were just serviced during my 10k mile service last fall. there can't be more than a couple hundred miles on them since. I guess I will sling my bike up and start tearing the front end off. I'm not sure we have to swap triples, but I'm going to look for that again.

I'd rather do this in the winter now so I don't miss out on any riding in the spring.

don't forget to swap kick stands too

and you are correct that will not need to swap triples with an 03 bike

and a +1 that he is great to work with

unless im mistaken; your 08 has 43 mm forks and 03's have 41mm's.
i seriously doubt you'd want my fugly things. unless i'm wrong and roberts are just as messed up as mine are. but i'm not about to lie and say they are perfect.
oh, i almost forgot. the left fork bottom is lightly scarred just by the pinch bolts form a lowside in GA a few years ago.

it's not like since i posted first, you have to swap with ME.
but i can send/post pics if im wrong

Delta is correct, SCG's are the same as the 03-04 bikes.

Where do you guys all live, anyway? It would be nice if we could just meet and swap in one day rather than shipping parts.

Do you want to trade seats also?

rah7777777
01-11-2011, 03:25 PM
I do not have the regular seat. I traded my regular seat for a low seat a long time back.

Those are easy to get people to swap though. Or hell, if it's a deal breaker I'll buy a regular seat to swap you :-)

You get my emails?

I'll trade with ya. (rah) I have to get my bike apart though, I'll start this week. I've got to put stuff away in the garage first but that shouldn't take long.

I did get the emails. Seats aren't a dealbreaker, just thought that since it is part of the SCG package we might trade those as well. My forks have about 10k on them and serviced last fall, not more than a couple hundred since service. I believe I am the second owner and I have never had the bike down. I don't believe there is any damage to the forks but then again I haven't really looked at them either. I'll go get some pics tonight.

Dirty girl... I was out on New Year's Eve, 40°-50° and I was out adventuring. I ended up on a wet dirt road. It's just been too cold since then to wash it.

The only damage I saw was wrench damage on the caps. Otherwise, they are damn near perfect.

Looks good! No rash on either fork bottoms? Yellow shock okay?

I understand all too well about moving the garage around!!
Finished a 5 month FULL kitchen remodel, went straight into building a shed ( or barn as relatives call it ) finishing that up now ( on month #6 now ) and just started the babies room....

My garage has had more saw dust in it this past year then ikea has in all it's particle wood furniture!

Thank You!!
