i have an 04 lightning xb12s. when the bikes cold it sounds like the sending unit is making a whining noise. the only reason i think its the sending unit is because the bike seems to have bad fuel pressure and wants to stall. once the bikes warm it seems to not be as bad. does anyone know if im making the right assumption?

Give us more info, never heard of this problem but the whole "stall when it first starts" problem is common.
What modifications have you done to your bike? exhaust, intake, etc.... ?

my fuel pump always whines when i flip the (red)switch up to ignition on postion, doesnt every ones do this from what i have read(it is priming the the pump is the reason for this sound) , or do you mean during when the engine is running or what , need more info.

the fuelpump is just pissed off because it knowns it about to have to work its ass off for me & "Ole' Blue".(my Buell). those damn lazy fuell pumps.!!

Correct! But my brother had this problem on his '08 xb12 when he put the Jardin exhaust on. His fuel pumped ran fine, but during initial start up the bike would sputter and die.

Hey, stuntkrazy12 we are trying to help so write us back dammit [mad]

Cold start issues are common, if you did some mods without a TPS reset this could happen. Mine did that when I first put my Hawk pipe on. Had to do two resets until the start and idle were perfect. Now it never has a start issue.
