Did you hear the news today ?

Erik anounced on his facebook page he's Getting ready to select someone to paint the first bikes, and it looks like he's hoping to get some pics and video up soon too.
Now he didn't say if he means street bikes or race bikes, but hey any news from Erik is good news to me.
I thought I would share that little tid bit of news with the rest of the Buellers here at BuellXB.com.

EPA testing would indicate a street legal production testing.

He mentioned EPA testing so I'd assume a street legal 1190RS is nearing production!

and here's more from the Erik Buell Racing facebook page,
they said on Erik Buell Racing on Facebook.com (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Erik-Buell-Racing/197762537495)
"Juggling lots of stuff here! About a week away from starting final EPA testing; getting ready to pick someone to paint the first marketing bikes; prepping 1125 stuff for daytona, start putting together the initial assembly area next week...kinda like the old days with very small numbers of hand built bikes"

interesting... painted panels rather than the colour molded panels. i liked hte colour molded panels better as you could easily buff out stone chips etc...

or matt sand em, if you wanted a simple but effect 'different look'.

1190RS Production and Availability Update

All testing has gone extremely well, and the 1190RS will be a very sweet bike when it becomes available. Power, weight, emissions, noise - all are beating our targets.

We have been talking to a number of great dealers who will be taking on the EBR line and hope to be able to announce the initial dealer network soon. If you would like information on purchasing an 1190RS, including reserving an order spot, please e-mail: info@ebracing.com

For the price of a top of the line minivan you can own a piece of true technical artisanship, one that would definitely be considered performing art! Beautiful to look at, even more beautiful to be riding!

nothing against anyone owning a minivan, but myself and my GF would never own a minivan , but if I did have one I would now sell it for this EBR bike, & it sounds like a great time and excuse to your minivan now , for lots more fun and better vehicle and better resale value and probably great collector bike to boot, but very unlikely anyone smart would resale the new EBR 1190RS.

gotta love the minivan you can load your bike in side its faster and handles better than a truck.cant see paying that much for a bike just because erik built it to many other bikes that are much better and 1/2 the price. tons of over priced and rare things in the past never amounted to anything and are worthless now.i love the buells but i have never been a erik buell worshipper

Much better? Please elaborate. Because last I checked there aren't many companies out there producing an excellent handling, 180HP, 375lb bike.
