This is my 05 xb12r I have owned it for 2 seasons. It started out as a stock firebolt and nothing close to stock anymore.

Custom exhaust
Aftermarket tail section
Aftermarket headlight
Race ecm
Vortex clip on handlebars
In house flat black paint
Breather re-route


I have many more projects to come, I wanted a buell that will be like none other on the road. Looking good so far. I wish the 03 fork tubes had wider space at the top of the fork tubes so I could just fit some clipons without having to replace my triple.

Do your hands get smashed/interfere at full lock with the frame and/or air box cover?

You can either use clip-ons under the upper triple clamp that have a rise to them (like 2" rise or more so they will be level with the upper clamp or higher), or use the clip-ons on top of the upper triple clamps by slipping your forks higher which results in lowering the front end, in which case you should lower the rear too to avoid the bike from being twitchy as all get out.

I haven't had any problems with clearance from the clip-ons. And the stability and feel when riding is better than the stock bars. Ill get a videos of the bike running up soon.

The earlier year forks were shaped different. They tapered in about half an inch below the top triple. The newer forks have a couple inches worth of the wider steerer tube before it tapers.

Suckage for older bike owners. Then it's option 2 of slipping the forks a little and using clip-ons or using Bolt triple and bars. Or I suppose clubmans or cross roads.

cool bike but for some reason I just do not like those fairings. Maybe i just hate them because every time I search for buell fairings on ebay they come up or something but I just don't like them. I do like the rest of the bike though as it looks kinda post apocalyptic or something.

I did actually end up buying a firebolt triple, I just need to find the bars, which reminds me, Fghtrxb, what did you end up doing with your stock bars after you cut the triple clamps? I'm looking for a pair!

I am to a point, but I never ride in the rain anymore. I had a bad wreck a few years back, went down on a highway during a rainstorm. Eventually I will redo the entire harness. Your bike build was great, a love the color combo with the green and black, great job.

I still love the bike, great to see it in some really like, but I would really enjoy seeing what you could do with it with a real headlight. You've already put so much work into the tail and exhaust.
