(Most brands and models available. Some models cost more.)

The GPRV4, specifically made for sport / road racing bikes. We've taken our proven fluid control technology and squeezed, trimmed, and lightened this model up to be exactly what the racers want. Smaller, lighter, faster.

A large dial with a definite "no-slip" grip that locks into place with a positive "click" at 20 settings. Approximately 30% lighter than the GPR original Version 1. Available now in Black / Red and multiple color combinations in the fall of 2007. Developed extensively in the World Superbike paddock and the AMA Roadracing paddock during the 2007 with incredible results. Shorter fluid ports, new valving, quicker reacting to high speeds.

Two wheel tuners "Brappy" award for "Best Road Racing Product of 2007". "Massive improvement over the original model" Superbike Magazine 2007.

Used by muti- time "Isle of man TT" winner John Guinness, Ireland's Ryan Farquhar, BSB Team Padgetts Honda, and BSB Team Hawk Kawasaki. Australian Superbike Championship wining Joe Rocket Honda with Adam Ferguson and Josh Brooks. In the AMA paddock you'll find the new GPRV4 on the M4 Emgo Suzuki Team, Team Roadracingworld.com, Corona Honda, Hooters Suzuki, Grant Matsushima's MPT Suzuki, and dozens of privateers. The list keeps growing every season for a reason...It works! It does what a steering damper is supposed to do.

The GPRV4 dampers available to the public is the same championship wining steering damper that our race teams use. Bolt on applications only too. No holes to drill into your top clamp and no holes to drill into your frame. Light-weight mounting brackets and all in house prototyping insure a proper fit to your bike. This is the steering damper you want on your sport bike.

Great price! Wish i had the funds! However i think this is useless you race. I never lose control of my steering and i ride pretty dang hard.

I use to think that way also. Once the bike started making more power the front end became considerably lighter thus I could feel the bars twitch every now and than. It would only be a matter of time before I experienced a tank slapper. Dampers are debatable without a doubt. However those who run them would never be with out.

What is the bolt width(s)?

Same as a stock lightning just a bit taller, they are the precision engineering slim line fat bar adaptor/risers. Best short term way to put 1125cr clubmans on an XB, I'll do 1125cr tripples if I have to in order to get a GPR as a replacement for my LSL, it just may push my timeframe a bit.

also curious about whether they fit the crossroads or CR clubmans, like DeltaOne's

Jornum1
02-09-2011, 09:30 PM
I am going to say that the GPR will not fit crossroads bars, or the LSL risers.
If you look at the pics posted on the first page of the XBS, it looks like the top bar clamp is replaced. there is a cut out on the bottom right side I would assume to allow the arm not to hit the clamp in a full right turn. Also it looks like to stabilizer mounts to the top tree by two allen heads on either side which I would assume in into the middle of the clamp. So in other words you will have to use their top clamp in order to use the stabilizer. The crossroads replaces the stock top clamp, and the LSL's do as well. I just cant see how they would work.

Perhaps Puzzled or someone else can confirm this, I am only guessing by the pics posted.

Is the bolt spacing on the 1125cr the same as the XB? if so perhaps it would work, if not I may see if I can get something elce fabbed up.

Jornum1
02-10-2011, 07:51 AM
No the xb and cr top tree clamps are reversed. If you look at the pics the Cr's bolts are wider in the front, and the xb is wider in the rear. I was hoping to use my LSL riser like yours on my CR, but it does not fit. Different pattern between the two.

Unless you could fab your own mounting plate, the LSl's wont work. Even if you did that, you would still be a inch higher and would have to modify the bar and/or its mounting point to the frame.
I guess it depends on you fab skills and how much you like those LSLs!

On the CR, this isa piece of cake. Basically 3 bolts replaced and your done.

Remove the top two bar clamp bolts, and mount the stabilizer plate onto the clamp. GPR supplies new bolts, but I use a Ram ball mount for one, so I just used a longer bolt(which ram supplied) that matched the thread size of the one GPR sent. Hand tighten them. The stabilizer is mounted to the plate with two additional allens which are loose out of the box for mounting.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v716/Jornum1/2011-02-25_15-21-45_637.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v716/Jornum1/2011-02-25_15-22-56_674.jpg

Mount the bracket to the frame. GPR supplies a small bushing to compensate for the airbox thickness.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v716/Jornum1/2011-02-25_15-24-46_353.jpg

Put the arm in the bracket on the frame, tighten the base plate to the handle bar clamp, GPR to base plate, then the frame mounting bolt, and finally the pinch bolt that holds the arm in place. DONE!

I only have 3 people for the group buy. I need 5 for the $371 shipped price.

The single unit price is $379.00.

USPS Priority Flat Rate Shipping is $11.00 ($390.00 total).

I can place a single unit order tomorrow. GPR usually takes close to two weeks to build an order than add in ship time. I don't know if single unit purchases are any quicker. I can ask. I have to contact GPR for a fellow forum members stabilizer so I'll inquire at the same time.

I know you made no commitment to any of what I stated. I just had not heard back about "WHETHER" it was possible at all and/or what the status was.

When I see:

Come on guys, step up and pay so we can get this moving!

Hey puzzled, sorry if my msg asking about how the technology and how they worked insinuated that I said I'd buy one, but it was an inquiry to learn. Never said put me down for one. Sorry for the confusion! I may be a lot of things, but not paying isn't one of them!

Since I can't pull up my original msg, this was your response to me asking about the technology:

The advantages of a stabilizer is that they put resistance on the front end to keep it from wobbling. The stabilizer manufactures have figured out how much resistance to put to keep the bike ridable and stable at the same time. The GPR's are adjustable and you can dial in the resistance. I find that as the rider gets use to a stabilizer they tend to increase the resistance. Your episode over the hill would not have occurred with a stabilizer. On the 1125's they get head shake under hard acceleration and benefit real well with a GPR. It is one of those you don't realize you need one and after owning one you wouldn't be without. Mike C. Check out the GPR thread. http://www.buellxb.com/Buells-for-Sale/Buell- ...

Quick question. Maybe a dumb one but I will ask it anyway. Puzzled is there any way to mount one of these on a lightning with aftermarket bar setup? I heard it has to be stock but really don't wanna go with a big ugly fork mounted stabilizer

Puzzled
07-05-2011, 02:16 PM
I'd be lying if I gave you an answer. I saw in the one thread where those who have done it said it can be done. I myself have no firsthand knowledge. My question would be what is the limiting factor when changing bars? Does the stabilizer height change thus the tank bracket doesn't work? Does a bar change use a different set of risers maintaining the same top mount height? Is there a bar with a stock center (clamp area) with a larger outer diameter?

And he put gift on the package which is also not conform your laws. But I m happy with the stabilizer and it works fine. I m not complaining I m just a little bit disappointed.

Nah, Greek customs are at least 35% of declared value + shipping charges (!?!?), plus fees, when using USPS, but it seems someone was bored of going through all the paperwork. With UPS, FedEx etc it's an overkill, they charge you something like an extra 100+ euro to do the paperwork, it's crazy!

Hey folks,

I've been thinking about a GPR for a while now but have been hesitant as I've a set of Renthal Crossbraced bars fitted.

Anyone any experience of these bars with a GPR i.e. do they fit

Thanks

Garry

I can order them for the single unit price. There doesn't seem to be enough interest for a group purchase of five. If there is enough to place an order I will be happy to put it together.

I don't know the difference as I own 2 1125's, so I have to ask to insure the right parts get shipped.

Thanks for the info, I'll write that in the GPR catalog as my cheat notes. [up]

Anybody know if the fat bar risers will work with a stabilizer? I have the Precision Engineering ones like pictured.

A lot of the risers I've seen came with extra threaded holes. I remember asking what the holes were for and someone said the were put there in case you wanted to use a stabilizer. If yours didn't come with those holes, you could probably drill and tap them yourself.

Mine does have the extra holes I was just wondering if the spacing was right and if the extra 1 inch rise would mess up the mounting angle...I really need a stabilizer for these rough roads up here.

Give Loren a call at GPR when you get a chance and bring this up to him. It may be of interest to him as he may have or may develop a taller bracket to suit your needs. 619-661-0101 If you don't have any luck I can contact him and see what info he may need.

Let me know if you find anything out about the fat bar risers. I want to put a set on my bike. What company makes them to fit the gpr?

Puzzled
09-27-2011, 05:14 AM
I sent an email today inquiring. If someone is in the San Diego Ca area with a Fat Bar kit it may be worth while to try and hook up with GPR if they don't already offer a fat bar option.

Loren,

Buell offered a fat bar conversion for their bikes and I have received several inquires in regards to if the GPR will fit it. I have not seen a fat bar kit first hand so my assumption is that it raises the bars and risers with the additional diameter. Have you seen this and do you offer a bracket to compensate for the height difference? The same question for those who have installed taller risers, are we able to accommodate them.
