The Barkers exhaust weighed in at 6 pounds complete with brackets and hardware. The stock exhaust weighed in at 20 pounds complete. This makes the Barkers 14 pounds lighter than the stock exhaust.

Great muffler. Don't think twice about it- you won't find a better deal. Myself and several forum members have bought from Mike. He has good prices and is a great source for performance goodies for our Buells.

I heard one on an 1125 the other day and it was damn loud. Couldn't believe how loud it was! Great sounding pipe !

Does anyone know if the Barkers will fit inside the Flexiglass fairing and belly pan?

Probably not, but here's a reference shot where the flexiglass sits. The pipe pretty much has to line up dead center on the motor, at least up front and then past the first footpeg bolt.

Thanks for the replies Dean... here and on the other site. How quiet were you able to get an RT-3 with the quiet core? Noise is the only thing holding me back from one of your pipes. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the Barkers will fit inside the Flexiglass fairing and belly pan?

Yes it does provided the pan is trimmed for the exhaust tip. The original Barker was designed using Taylor Knapp's race 1125 with a belly pan and full plastics.

I run mine with no quiet core or pillow packing. I'm sure it hurts low end some however it rips at WOT.

1125 Exhaust Shootout results.

http://www.americansportbike.com/Exhaust_Shootout.html

HP
1 137.8 Keda RT-3
2 137.4 Barkers
3 137.3 Drummer

TQ
1 82.73 Keda RT-1
2 82.68 Barkers
3 82.11 Keda RT-3

Acceleration 60-100MPH in seconds
1 3.32 Barker
2 3.405 Drummer
3 3.427 Barker

Acceleration 100-140 MPH in seconds
1 3.352 Barker
2 3.398 Keda RT-1
3 3.427 Drummer

Acceleration 60-140 MPH in seconds
1 6.678 Barker
2 6.832 Drummer
3 6.856 Keda RT-1

Barker exhaust lead every category in acceleration.

The Drummer that posted the peak HP numbers is not a production pipe. It is a one off race pipe (why it was included is beyond me). The top four pipes were within .7 HP of each other, dam close. Deans pipes did very well, congrats to him.

Table 1 Exhaust System Weights
Exhaust System Muffler Weight (Pounds)
Buell Stock 1125 21.4

Jardine 5.9
FMF 6.0
Barker 6.4
D&D 6.9
KEDA RT-3 8.3
SS Drummer 10.3
SS Chambered Drummer 10.3
KEDA RT-1 11.9
TorqueHammer 13.9
CES 14.3

A 1 pound difference in the lightest four pipes.

The numbers it produced were slightly skewed also, by +4% I think, which made it appear to have the top hp numbers when in reality it did not. One off or production didn't make much difference, both of mine were original prototypes. I guess you gotta start somewhere.

Good info on the Barker fitting in the pan, I didn't know that it had already been tested.

Thank you puzzled! Here are some shots of my 1125CR with the black powder coated Barker exhaust that I fitted several days ago. Once the stock exhaust was removed, fitting the Barker was quick and very easy. Mike was kindly able to have Barker's supply me with all three different Quiet Core inserts to play with for on road use. Very happy with the over-all sound and the versatility of baffling options. Awesome!

Good work! And what a sweet looking ride! I have a thing for the 1125s. Especially the black CRs! That bike looks like a trouble maker just sitting still!

Thank you Chicknstripn! All Buells reek of delicious attitude - it's a nice odour! Haha!
Yeah, the 1125's are different to the others though - must be the Rotax that does it.
I've also fitted an IDS Barker ECM. Once again, thanks Puzzled... he got that shipped down here (to the land where everything hangs upside down).

Something NEW from Barker.... You can now order your Barker exhaust with a colored Barker exhaust tag. They are available in Black (standard), Red, Yellow and Blue.

But wait there's more... The exhaust clamps themselves are now available in Black (standard), Red and Blue. You can now match your exhaust to your bike!

No additional cost when ordering a new exhaust.

Looking to upgrade your existing exhaust? The colored tags are available for $10 plus the cost of shipping. The aluminum clamps are available for $50 plus the cost of shipping.
