Hi, im currently in the process of buying a buell 2003 blast with 2k miles on it.

I've read alot of reviews about how bad the bike is and its problems, but im not going to judge it until i have my experience with it so,

what should i look for in particularly when im buying it. once its running, any type of noise? rev it up to see anything in particular???

i just want a nice starter bike, and the blast seems to be great for such a thing.

thanks

If it was taken care of at all - it should be good to go - just keep the oil topped off. check when bike has been ridden for at least half an hour.

I just got an 03 blast with 2200 miles on it. First thing i did was take it to HD and have them replace all my fluids and check it out. They said it needed maintance but was otherwise in good condition. It is my first bike and I have had a "BLAST" with it.

I just purchased a '00 Blast and (since my boyfriend is the service manager at a Harley Davidson) he checked all the fluids and also had to rejet the bike. The bike's going to have vibration but thats just the bike. Good luck with your purchase! ::)

Hi all,
I'm looking at an 03 Blast with 6k+ miles, just curious if anyone might have suggestions?

Thanks!

Just make sure you have good tires when buying it. If they are using the stock dunlop tires they might need to be replaced.

OK, I've got another tip, I don't know if this will help.
I have an 03 blast but it has 350 miles when I bought it. However after putting on 5500 miles in the past 5 months I rode into school today and the muffle broke off of the pipe....
The pipe was clearly pitted when I bought it and I had taken off the muffler before.

Just something to check on is to make sure they took care of the muffler, I know that the fact that you have 6k miles already might mean you will never encounter this but who knows.
