I just got a Scg and after a while it has developed a big give on the gas handle, meaning, that there is a lot of slack on the gas handle before the engine start to rev, this is probably normal as the wires stretch after some use. There are two cables going into the handle and I have not had time to trace each cable to see what i will be adjusting by tightening the screw adjustment on the handle. How do you ''old'' buell owners go about this and adjust away the slack, it is about 1/4 of an inche or 5-6 mm. I have put over 1000 miles on the bike in a short month and love it.

getting that kind of slack isn't normal, so before adjusting i would look how this could happen.

maybe the cable is loose or is starting to brake?!

I've had slack in my throttle from day one, thought it was normal.

I've got some slack in mine as well, I've just gotten used to it.

I can grab my throttle side grip by the end and twist about 2-4mm, but I can't tell if it has anything to do with the cable or not. I have no knowledge of motorcycle throttle assemblies, so I've just let it be...it's not affecting the power or ride, so I haven't been too worried about it.

My slack is in the handle itself, as if it were an anti-accidental wheelie thing.

the slack <5mm on the handle is ok...

Thanks for all the reps, I will find out of it and post my findings when I do. I am a Engineer of trade and (1/4 in = 6.35 mm i know) I did not measure exactely so it was just an estemate.;)
