I am looking for a complete parts list to convert the front end of my 9"S" to the "R".

Can someone also confirm if the wiring is an issue? I have read there is a different wiring harness on the "S" than the "R" and going from an "R" to an "S" is where the issues are. Since im trying to go from an "S" to an "R" i dont expect an issue......

*sigh* I wonder who is going to come up with that... :p

What year is this thing first off?

What color fairing do you want?

What color winscreen do you want?

What mirrors do you want? Short? Long? 1125R?

hmmm im thinking shorties

You probably don't want to do that. The longer stalked mirrors look just as good, and are much much more functional.

lol, just playing with ya..

Now this is a pretty accurate list. This is everything I can see that you need comparing the two parts books here in front of me. I have the compete bike harness on there because unless you want to mutilate your stock harness to relocate everything to get it to fit in the new fairing. I also have the new ignition switch on there because they mount differently and you would have to order it to your original key code, otherwise your seat lock would be different.

If you have a fax number, it would be 10 times easier just to fax it over. Its about 30 lines long. If you dont, thats fine I will end up typing it out. Just let me know

e-mail me your fax to sublime_777@hotmail.com

I know this is an old topic, but does anyone have pics of the conversion step by step? specifically the wire harness, as I've read the connectors differ from the S and R models, has anyone made a pigtail/adapter to bridge 'em instead of changing or hacking up the original harness?

Its really easy.............almost retardedly easy.

Get all the parts you want and start bolting them on. Headlights will have to be spliced but thats easy. Cut the plug off your lightning assy or remove the pins from the plug.......do the same with the fire bolt Headlights and reassyemble them. You will end up with a extra wire as the firebolt is a 3wire vs the lightnings 4 wire. Sounds hard but it aint.

you dont need a wire harness, just pull the pins out of the plug and its a matter of rearranging them. I cut them, but they do pop out if you have a pin or something.

Im sure that after 4 years and no more post that he either figured it out or sold the bike, but good luck with the sale.
