jasoncummings64
03-05-2011, 04:16 AM
no. the rock inn, by lake hughes, way nicer ride, longer, along the lake no cops, more of a chill atmosphere. gorgeous. oh! and u never see any cops. start in santa clarita, hit the rock in, and you can stop at three differ bars on the way home back through the twisties, soober of course, i ride with couch surfers mostly, they drink. look it up, "the rock inn"

Hey guys.. I live right off Mulholland and yea there are a lot of cops around the rock store and up to kanan area. I have only seen a handfull of Buells in the past year out here. They really do stand out and everyone stares at our bikes!

As for the suspension set up. I weigh 165 with my gear on. I have a 09 xb9-sx . The stock set up is more for a 200 lb person. I had to back off the peload front one full trun, if you have a older buell it would be one line out. I backed the rear off by one position as well. The front and rear comp/ rebound were with in a 1/2 a trun in. It fills like I'm on rails in the turns!:D

Low-sided last weekend, parts on order to fix the damage. somehow managed for the front wheel to hit a rock and took a few chunks from it. So she is in the stable for a couple weeks.

Walked away with a sore leg for 3 days..that's it. Always wear my leathers when ripping the canyons.

Hay Socalvet, I'm glad to hear your OK and you walked away. That's why I where my leather's!! So what tires were you pushing on bike? By the way, what make buell do you have, I might have met you befor up at the rock store.

Golden, yea thanks man.. my leg is 98% better now.
I am ridding a 2009 XB12Scg, was Red now its all Flat black. I am probably going to need a new front wheel since I actually took more damage than I thought. So I am considering dropping the hammer on some Sunset orange wheels!! That May look sick with the Flat Black combo.
As for Tires I run. Last set was Bridgestone BT003 and they performed great! Race tire for the street.
Current Tires: Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa, They were a little more expensive than the BT003 however I find that they have more grip and warm up much quicker then the BT003's Overall a more confidence inspiring tire. The Low-side was not due to new tires, but to my screw up..came in wayyy to hot for this corner and had nowhere to go but off the road haha! Gota Pay to Play!

Nice pics Socalvet![up][up] I can tell your a true Bueller! I did GMR today. Nice ride. I need to get full leather like you, or good pants to make a nice two peace. By the way I loved those BT003 on my Duc S4 916. I did not know if they were good for are xbs. Good to hear the are! I still have the stocks on my bike, boy do they suck! But if you had to pick one its sounds like I should run the Rosso. Thanks agin. By the way, those orange wheels are the sickest of them all , I want them too! So when will she be back together?[sad]

Thanks guys! Yea I will never tear it up without leathers on for the simple fact that I like my skin and bones intact. However for just a cruise to the store or whatever jeans are in order! Definitely get some leather bottoms, will be the best money ever spent on safety gear. Ohh what size do you wear because I have a pair of Astars Track pants in Black that are 1 year old, no damage size USA-38 EU-54 they are too big on me since I lost weight.
Yea man those Rosso tires really stick!!
Here is one more pic from a fast downhill decreasing radius..kinda sketchy turn if you don't know it!

Jason and Golden, You are welcome to ride with me every Saturday and some Sundays once I get my baby repaired!
I can give you a few pointers on knee draggin too.
Dang bro..Dragging peg is pretty low!! "how low can you go?" haha I have to say I have never touched peg. Get that butt off the seat lean less and carry more speed through the turn! Plus you will be able to get on the gas sooner with less agressive of and angle!

jasoncummings64
03-12-2011, 07:44 AM
i googled it, why do yuou wantem so bad? they just change your grip height? i mean i like the handlebar, i also like the lightening one, but i need to get the higher set, too much weight on my wrists

SoCalVet
03-12-2011, 08:53 AM
I would like to get them to have my body in more of an attack position. Either the crossroads or I buy an 1125R haha!

golden1
03-12-2011, 10:17 AM
Believe me, I diden't want or even try to drag the peg! It was be for I set up my suspension and I was going into a sharp right up at latigo there was a nice patch of dirt and I diden't want to cross the double yellow so I had no choice but to get her down there. I'm lucky I dident go down the way the bike was set up! Boy did it make my butt pucker when I felt the peg! Sounds like we need to hook up and ride. I ride Trials bikes and dirtbikes as well, what about you guys? Socalvet your right , get off the seat and lean less is alway the key. That's why I need pants.[up][up] I can tell you ride whats your number?

igc, if i ever make it up that way, for sure..

also i was up by the rock store today, there was a three cop car spot just past the rock store where the r.s.p. guy sets up, they were impounding some dudes bike and there were about twenty bikes stopped all around, that place is a friggin bust! there were some sick riders out today.. one guy, not that this is smart, went by our group in the twisties and popped it up as he was going by, guess we were going to slow for him... i dont need anymore tickets.. go right on by!
