Just put DDM tuning hid kit on my 03 bolt. went with 8k bulbs. it was only $40 for the whole kit. The only problem i had was the ground connector would not fit the stock ground wire. I had to splice in a new one. i used velcro and put the ballasts on the back of the front fairing. All in all it was well worth it to get them. Also found out i DO NOT have the race ecm on my bike. oh well.

I got the slim balasts, and got black zip ties, and zip tied them to the two relay\fuse boxes, it makes it a little bit of tight fit to get the fairing back on, but it works!

How blue\purpleish is it with the 8000k lights?, i got 6 on mine

havnt looked at them at night, but daylight look they are blue but still very very bright. I moved my blinker relay onto a bolt deeper into the front fairing to make room for the slim ballasts. I like the 8K blubs. i thought the 6s were to white for my tastes. when they are cold they are a little white but they warm up into a nice blue. i wont be able to post up pics of a little while because i am going back to school. I came home from college to put them in.

Right now im watching the final four. I go to UConn so GO HUSKIES!!!

Do the HID bulbs fit in the housings without modification or do you have to rig them into the plastic housings?

They fit, i had to cut the rubber back cover thing a bit to make it work better, but that is it!

I made a video that shows how it all can fit in an 09 XB12scg.

Got it from wolstentech.com

Which one did you buy, there are 4 at the bottom of the page?

You only need one, I believe I bought the negative switching option. That way the wire from the accessory will always power it and it will switch on the lights after a delay by grounding the circuit.

So with the relay you bought, once you switch to your high beam and go back to your low does it delay the low beam for 30-45 seconds?

If so, everyone else looking to do this should probably buy one of these instead: http://www.wolstentech.com/products/timedelayrelay/tdr-s.php

No, once my low beam comes on it doesn't turn off until I turn the bike off.

Is that how the XB12S's are stock? I thought they only had one headlight on at a time? I could be wrong though...

You are correct. But by using the parking light for the low beams power and disconnecting the stock low beam wire you essentially complete the 'duel on' mod. The timer you posted is definitely good for someone who doesn't want this done, but if you're upgrading to HIDs, the more light the better.
