That's an engine mount.
"Over tightening" this would strip the crankcase threads..!?

Where is it cracked, engine mount tab or the frame itself ?

The way that mount is designed, there should be NO load on anything but the engine case threads from an overtightened fastener. It's a freefloating system on the right side of the bike and a solid mount on the left side.

All fasteners get inserted, then snug the left side, lightly snug the right side fasteners, then the left side fasteners get torqued, then the right side gets torqued, then finally the pinch bolts get tightened.

It's all designed that way to "elimnate" the frame stress problem you're talking about...!
